Renée Zellweger Sets the Record Straight
Oh, snap: Renée Zellweger is making house calls.
Yesterday, the purdy Texan paid a surprise visit to the offices of the New York Post, phoning the editors of Page Six and asking them to meet her in the lobby. The editors thought it was a prank, but agreed, hoping for some amusement when they came face-to-face with "Renée." But when they got to the lobby, a very casually dressed Renée was standing there -- and she wasn't happy.
"I just wanted to tell you that story was hurtful about me being with another man," she told them. "It wasn't true, and it made me look slutty." The actress, who filed for an annulment of her marriage to Kenny Chesney last month, was referring to their story on Monday that she was planning a trip to Ireland to see "her new beau, Irish singer Damien Rice." Renée told them that she and Damien are merely old friends. And, for the record, she isn't dating the guy that she went to the Red Sox game with either.
Okay, gotta run. Just got a phone call from someone claiming to be Ashlee Simpson. She says she's downstairs in my lobby, and she doesn't sound too happy...

I feel like as soon as she even speaks to the gossip hounds at all, she's forfeiting her right to privacy a little bit. I'm sad people are cruel, and she shouldn't have to defend herself to anyone. What's Salma Hayek been up to?

I Renee is so cute and smart (looking) and I hope the best for her. However!! As I keep telling my daughters (11&13) really get to know the guy thru good times and bad. I think the whole cleb poparazzi needs to cool off of these stars and give them a normal life.

Looking for love when you live under a microscope would be practically impossible. How many of us would want our choices (good and bad) broadcast all over the world? I think Renee is totally talented and beautiful. I hope she finds Mr. Wonderful. He'd be pretty hard to spot in Renee's world.
I say Good Luck to Renee. she's a great girl with a beautiful personality. And who wouldn't be love struck by someone like Kenny? Cum'on- he's gorgous! I hope the best for both of them.
I personally am not a big fan of Renee's but I was happy to hear she had gotten married. I think celebrites for the most part shouldn't get married. You have to choose between fame and marriage. B/c the way it's been going, the two don't mix. There are a few couples who make it, but even those who have been married for years and years are splitting now. Look at Eddie Murphy and his wife, and even Babyface and his wife, Brad and Jen, Tom and Nicole...you can't have both.

Now that Kenny is free and has had his heart broken he can actually write some songs that are country. He is so hot but my affection for him is deteriorating because he just ain't country no more.
What woman can blame Renee for falling for Kenny Chesney? They were an adorable couple and I think they even really loved one another. I wouldn't wish the fishbowl they live in on anyone. Kenny isn't country?? Don't be so narrow minded on what is and isn't country. Every artist has their own style, thankfully. I hope Renee and Kenny both find love again.

Feeling bad for Kenny assuming she left him because he said oh sure honey I want to have kids.... marries.... and then decides, eh, not right now. Whatever. Fraud. I dont think Renee has ever confronted a tabloid story before. Remember all the ones when she was with Jim Carrey. You heard about the two of them all the time. It must have just really pissed her off. She's human. I wouldnt want someone going out there and saying I was with my ex after a newly split marriage. I wish Renee the best of luck finding a man who wants the same thing she does but in a slower fashion. She just wants to be a mommy.
Oil and water don't mix well in opinion and to me that was what Kenny and Renee were.I hate to see Kenny's heart broke that way, but Hey Kenny get back in the groove and get some goods rockin songs out there and do a FANTASTIC Tour like you did in 2005.
