Simon Cowell Still an Idol
Rumors that Simon Cowell wouldn't be on American Idol this season were just that: rumors. Fox announced earlier today the king of insults will be back for this season -- and many seasons to come.
This news comes with the settlement of a lawsuit against Cowell by another British music mogul Simon Fuller. The copyright infringement lawsuit -- Fuller said Cowell copied the format of his Pop Idol for Cowell's X-Factor -- was reportedly preventing Fox from signing a deal to keep Cowell on Idol. Fuller and Cowell settled their suit out of court.
Cowell's new deal will keep him around for at least five more seasons. The next season kicks off in January.
Hooray! Idol wouldn't have been the same without Simon.

I think I'm safe saying that I am not the only person who watches American Idol just to see what Simon has to say next. I couldn't care less about who wins and loses - I just watch for the insults and shame!
yeah i like simon too. . .but lay off the shirts from the baby GAP...

Yea, he gets a bit too harsh sometimes,(especially when he rips on people for their size, weight, and looks--- It's supposed to be about their ability to SING, right?)
Still, it just wouldn't be IDOL, or near as interesting to watch, without Simon's witty comments! He keeps folks on the edge of their seats,just waiting to see what he will say next. Thing is, the man is so on the mark most of the time when it comes to WHO he thinks will take home the title!
I wish the other judges and the studio audience would keep quiet while Simon is giving his opinion. He doesn't say anything or boo Paula & Randy while they are "judging" so I think he should be given the same courtesy. The audience just boo's no mater what the poor guy says!! They just want to disagree with him no matter what!
Simon , while speaking his mind, is VERY TALENTED and especially GREAT at what he knows it will take to make the next AMERICAN IDOL!!
