I don't agree with the America's Sweetheart title they have assigned to her that has been given to such actresses as Megan Ryan, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock. I TOTALLY agree that every single movie Jennifer Aniston makes is some version of Rachel Green. I have been telling my husband this for at least the past year. This woman has no range whatsoever. She is America's Sweetheart, she's the simple girl next door who just went through a horrible divorce in front of EVERYONE and proved she'll be fine. People look up to that. They see Brad/Jen probably the hottest couple ever fine and then all the sudden they are getting a divorce and he's bedding Angelina in front of her face. Yeah she's w/Vince now but she wasn't w/anyone for awhile there and had to watch them two being photographed all over the tabloids together. I think she's great and Rachel Green was the best thing that happened to her. She'll live in syndication FOREVER!!

I never knew that Angie stoled Billy Bob T. from another woman that he was ingaged to at the time(He and Angie suposedly elloped while he was still ingaged to anohter woman, some other actress) It's starting to look like a pattern for little miss Angie, there's something a little fishy about that lady. As far as the divorce goes I really don't think this was that horrible a divorce by Hollywood standards. There have been some knock out drag out nasty divorces in Hollywood that went on forever this was resolved fairly quickly and went out with a whimper by Hollywood standards IMO

I think that Jennifer did a great job in Derailed, and that is a far cry from her character of Rachel Green. Its hard when you've been typecast into a stereotype that you can't get out of.

The actress was Laura Derm and Angie makes out w/her brother on the red carpet, she's stable. Hey maybe her being so messed up in the head makes her 'Lora Croft' acting skills soo good. There's so much Angelina Jolie posting going on on this blog. This was about Jennifer's performance in a movie. People have a hard time getting past all that drama and judge her acting ability. I don't agree that if you play someone for so many years that it's just who people see. I didn't see a bit of Jack Tripper in John Ritter's performance in Sling Blade.
Hopefully, Jennifer Aniston will be given a special script, maybe spread her wings a bit and take a chance not being the same neurotic, insecure, pouty woman that we've all come to accept from Rachel....I mean Jennifer.

I like the post on here that stuck to the subject and overall it seems most or just not impressed with her as an actress or her as an actress carrying a movie. I think she might do better playing a supporting role in movies until and if she can then carry one, Television and movies are very different animals. There are soap stars who are hugely popular but can't carry ovver to primetime and primetime actors who are hugley popular but can't carry over to movies.

As far as the Courty Cox (if true) thing goes I'm sure he knew she would be cold to him but was the bigger person anyway and went over anyway. Now it can't be said that he snubbed, one of JA's friends instead it is the other way around. I just wish everyone would move on.

I agree that Jennifer's characters seem, to some degree, similar to her role on Friends, and that she doesn't have a lot of range or hasn't really had a great script to spread her wings. (I haven't seen Derailed yet.) Don't bother with your smug personal remarks to people you don't know.

I don't that Angeline hopping on a nice plane, spending two days in a earthquake zone during the day and sleeping in a comfy hotel at night seriously counts as 'being involved in major world affairs' it sounds more like a quickie vacation trip that happens to be to 'real life' and not a nice sunny island. Maybe if she really was involved she would live with the people for a while and help in their everyday needs, not just go hang out with their president and visit a hospital.

Hey Nicole: I really enjoyed Squid and the Whale. It was a real story. It wasn't a special-effects showcase like every other movie these days.

I must say that some scenes involving the little boy were a little graphic for my taste. Then again, I didn't grow up with any brothers. Maybe if I did I wouldn't have been so grossed out by the little boy masturbating -- at school -- and sharing his "prize."

Now I probably made you not want to see the film, but it actually really was good. The actors -- Laura Linney, Jeff Daniels, Jesse Eisenberg and Owen Kline (who is the son of Phoebe Cates and Kevin Kline) were topnotch.

And I always love seeing Billy Baldwin. "Hey, brother!"

Before yuo say anything disparaging about angelina's work in Asia (eartquake zone or Africa) you try go to the same places first. I have traveled to similar places in south Asia and Hotels there may sound comfy with fancy names but try living in those places... I'm not going to say it here not to offend ppl.

You should try reading angelina's diary when she spent weeks in Sierra Leone ( you can buy it from Amazon and benefit UNHCR along the way.

BTW, Angelina is not flying some fancy planes or helicopter, she flies in whatever available that's the reason she's loving it.. the feeling of excitement read her interviews and travel to these places like some people and you would change your opinions.

Okay, call me crazy, but I'm actually going to comment on the movie!

I thought Jen did well in "Friends" and as long as she takes roles that mimics that same kind of character, she will always be remembered as Rachael. I don't necessarily think she is a great actress, nor do I think she is as terrible as some people have posted.

I think there is a lot of pressure on her right now to do great and prove herself as a strong, independent, and single woman, and I also think that that is affecting her film career. As long as people look at her and immediately think of "Friends" or "Brangelina" they will never take the time to actually look at her as an actress.

On the flip-side, I didn't like the film at all. The plot was really what killed it. Not a big fan.

Anway, good luck to Jen in her future endeavors. Everyone deserves to be happy and successful.

You should of left that back in high school. On the subject of them, they are grown women under tremendous stress and scrutiny. They deserve respect for the time they spend trying to entertain us and if a movie they are in ends up being bad, usually it's not their fault. It's the screenwriters' fault. They do their job just like we have to.
