All of these talked about boycotts of this man's work and future projects will no doubt ruin his career. What he said was hateful and wrong, but I'm sure he is not the only star in Hollywood that has that view. I won't be suprised if he tries to do harm to himself at this point.

sadly yes, while we all have problems that may not be aired in public, it's amazing how these guys get richer and us normal folk get nothing. oprah is keen to lock up pedofiles (a worthy cause) but seems to help those hollywood stars repair their images to continue to make billions of dollars...a little hypocritical i think.

I have never understood why so-called celebrities get away with the awful things they do when so-called ordinary people get punished for them. So what if a celebrity goes to jail. Is that going to make anyone's life less fulfilled if we never see Mel Gibson and all the other jerk celebrities again. NOT!!! We won't miss them because there will always be another new "star" that comes along. I say give them what they deserve including jail time and boycotting their movies, cds, concerts, etc. We would all be much better off without them. The more money they make the greedier and more egotistical they get figuring they are above everyone else and should get everything for free. Most of them are only ordinary or trashy people who got lucky with a good promoter. A lot of them are extremely lousy actors, singers, entertainers, etc.

There is no room for anti-semitism anywhere in today's world. People who display it, will pay dearly.

I think what he said was wrong and I dont agree with it, but come on people its not like he is the only person to feel like that. What really pisses me off is that something as stupid as this gets so much attention and yet all of the real life stuff, children getting kindnapped or a girl being raped etc, doesnt even get this much attention. I think people need to just more on from this,He didnt hurt anyone so he said a few things that affened some people big F**king deal. Amanda, I agree with you completely. It is a very touchy subject. Very thin-skinned people when it comes to that. Most of the people in power positions in Hollywood are Jews. Do not mess with them.

O.K. so let me get this straight.... in earlier comments made by Mr. Gibson he states that hate is against his religion ( which it should be, hate is wrong in general)...But if he is of such God fearing folk why then, is this very married man, out canoodling with a couple of blondes?? Considering it is 2000 years or so AD, and everything we know about Jesus is heresay, it is rather besides the point what he'd do in this mad world (it is unlikely anyone would heed what he'd say these days anyways). Every religion has been attacked - it is perhaps the instituion and not the esoteric aspects that deserve the criticism. Mel is obviously going through a rough patch - it could be he is overtly sensitive to world anarchy than the rest of us who are safely separated from war reality - whatever it is that is bugging him, he has turned again to alcohol. I honestly think he is deeply affected by the turmoil in the "holy lands" - and the Catholics have a connection to the orthodox churches in both Palestine and Lebanon (though we don't hear much about their destruction - they have also been targeted). The news frenzy around his problems is distrubing and exploitative.

He isn't the first celeb to make a mistake - and we have all said/done things and embarrassed ourselves whilst being intoxicated. Leave him to sort himself out and recover from his addiction. He has a large family who needs him

Wow, there are a good deal of haters out there that probably are the real hypocrites. Mel was drunk and pissed off when he said what he said. He's been very open in the past he an addiction problem. What's your excuse for being so hateful to someone who probably hasn't done anything you yourself hasn't done or someone you love hasn't done. How many of us has driven under the influence of something and/or said things we wish we hadn't nor even really believe. He is doing the right thing making apologies and trying to figure out how to get better. It's easy to kick someone when they are down. I have a great deal of respect for his talent and his torture. I for one have loved his work in the past and look forward to what he will bring to the future. His work has bettered my life and I thank him. He is a good man. As good as any of us are. He is human. I never heard of Mel acting like this before. I wonder what caused such a huge disaster. All the years he's been a celebrity, I have only read of his drinking here or there. There were never reports of him partying with ladies. I'd like to know what set him off on this binge. Must of been something big.

Jennifer Garner claims she was born in 1972...but she was in my Kindergarten and 1st Grade classes...meaning that she would have been born no later than 1969. She's not fudging her age by MUCH...but I guess that three years matters to an action star: much better to have somebody that is "just over 30" than someone who is "pushing 40".

Don't get me wrong: I love her work, and from what I remember of the (2) years she was in my class, she was a smart girl, and she's definitely talented, not to mention an absolute knockout. But born in 1972? Not a chance.
