That's so sad. I really thought they were a down to earth couple that were devoted to their kids and their family. I feel sad for them... I thought they were going to make it.

I really thought this couple might make it but when it comes to Hollywood marriage, there are so many pressures that they usually end this way.

I always thought that they were kind of an odd match. But I am still sad to hear about their split. It seems that no one can stay together in Hollywood anymore.

husband walks away with big bucks. She is "the star" in that family. As for the split-up, nothing surprises me anymore. Nicole Kidman will probably be filing papers soon too.

I'm not really surprised. There was something off about them whenever I saw pictures of them together and anyone who pays attention to celeb gossip has to know that these two were having problems for a while.

Also, they married when they were really young and so maybe they both needed some growing up time before they got together. They started out young and had kids very early on. Couples who seem to have a few relationships behind them do well because they have learned from their past mistakes and learned what they want.

I also think Nicole will get divorced again..sad to say.

It is really disappointing. I'd seen them on TV a few days back though (at an event for his movie) and she looked really unhappy and tense, so I am not surprised.

I hope they can work it out. I think that Nicole and Keith are a bit older, thought more about marriage first, and hopefully they can work it out too.

OMG! I never get too upset or surprised by Hollywood splits but this one is terrible!!!! I love Reese. This is so sad!

I began to suspect that Reese and Ryan weren't doing so great after Walk the Line came out. All the promoting she was doing for the movie and then all the awards afterwards. I also noticed in a lot of photos that she appears awfully dreamy eyed with Joaquin Phoenix. She better not even think about it!!!!!

I'm not surprised. He looked very sour at the Oscars, not overjoyed that she won or anything, and she forgot to thank him in her acceptance speech.

cant say im surprised after all the rumours of them breaking up for the last few years. i am really sad though as they have been one of my top two fav couples since cruel intentions and always seemed so down to earth. i really hope that they can resolve their differences and maybe get back together...wishful thinking i suppose :(

he is from delaware she is from los angeles she was already into movies he wasn't what did you expect. she had the money not him i hope she had a pre-nup. she won an oscar he didn't. he wasn't exceited about that.

They were too young. It's that simple. In my experience when people marry too young it usually ends this way. And, these two were famous as well. They were not only young but had the limelight glaring on them, too.

Joaquin (is that how you spell it?) is so much nicer than ryan anyway - he alsways seemed kinda grumpy (but not in a good brooding way either!).
I am devastated - reese is so adorable she deserves happiness simply for making us all smile with sweet home alabama .....

I thought Ryan and Reese would make a go of it. But there were rumors about their troubles for awhile now. I was wondering if her career over shadowing his was a factor. He always looked so sour when they appeared together. Rarely smiling.
Side Topic re: Nicole and Keith: I think it's a good sign that Keith went to rehab. It shows he cares about what he has in his life and wants to keep it. So I wish them lots of happiness.

I hate when a celebrity couple breaks up and everyone automatically assumes that the woman involved is in love with a co-star. Ryan was the one having the affair with another woman. She's really better off without him. He couldn't handle her success.

I usually don't get emotionally invested in celebrity couples, but this was one I was rooting for. I love Reese and was sad to hear about the split.

I am so sorry to hear this as I think Renee is a class act and she doesn't deserve to have a cheating husband. He made a big mistake, and now he has lost a really wonderful woman. I wish the best for her and her children.

It would be great if Reese and Ryan work it out. They are in a tough biz to keep a marriage going smoothly. Being apart for filming, constant negative stories about their family, outsiders trying to break them up. Male and female. It takes alot of determination to overcome all that.
So if they don't work it out, I'd like to see Reese with Joaquin. If they do work out, great. I'd be happy for them. It would be really nice.

The end of any marraige is devastating for the individual(s) and entire family.Can you imagine adding tabloids,paparazzi chasing you,being under constant public scrutiny,hectic schedules and children to that mix?How difficult this must be,my heart goes out to them.Hopefully,they can turn this page in their lives with as much grace and privacy as possible.

I am very saddened by this news. I too have been married since 1999 and have 2 beautiful children. I was only 17 when I married my 21 year old husband and wonder if its not just a seven year itch? I feel it too, but not enough to call it quits!!
