i really think they are being to hard on her usually im the first to say celebs get off easy but in this case its almost like because she is a celeb they are chewing her up and spitting her out i mean there were not drugs or alcohol and she wasnt on the phone or anything it really was just an accident and reports say she was very distressed at the scene, while i am aware someone did lose a life i really do think they are hitting brandy a little to hard; almost like they are making an example of her. Yes, I used to be a big fan of Brandy's and I think what happened is so sad and unfortunate. I think it truely was an accident, and I just pray that Brandy will see this as a huge eye opener and rededicate her life back to Christ. $50 million is the opening salvo. The suit will be negotiated and probably settled out of court--probably end figure will be in $5mil-$10mil range. After all, Brandy WAS at fault and these people lost their daughter. Why should Brandy get a free pass?

Yes, everyone seems to forget "she killed someone". Who cares if it was an accident? The punishment has to fit the crime. If they sued her for $50,000 she wouldn't even blink at it. Now sue her for $50mil and I bet she understands the impact of her actions.

She can feel as bad as she wants at least she is alive to feel something. Where as another young woman is dead. If she was a stand up person she would have offered to pay all funeral expenses and donated some amount of money to the charity of the families choice or set up a trust for the motherless child.

She probably won't have to pay $50 mil. She will pay a bundle though. Many factors go into play. Any offspring that need to be supported. Anticipated annual salary for years to come etc.And anyone else who is impacted as a result of this person's death. Not to mention the loss of life itself.

Okay, this is a sad situation on both ends of the fence. A lady has lost her life, but sueing Brandy for $50 million is not going to bring that lady back. These people are after money at the end of the day. Brandy will be okay in the end, and hopefully the family can somehow manage to move on. For those saying that she was driving reckless, where are you getting that from. The speed limit was 60 and she was going 65 (we all do that). She was not under the influence of anything, and there is no evidence that she was on a cell phone, it was just a pure unfornate accident. It was a accident. 50 million dollar is a lot of money. I don't have that kind of money. What would they get from me? Not a penny. And the life would still be gone. I feel very sorry for the family but the money is not going to bring her back. first off, you can't put a price on a life and to be perfectly honest she should be sued for every cent she has b/c she is the cause of someone's death. Second yes 50 mill is a lot to sue for, however lawyers always go for an amt that is completely higher than what they will actually receive. They start high and meet in the middle. Should a normal person be sued $2 million because of an accident? I don't think so..so why should BRandy be sued $50 million? Honestly, she should be punished..definitely. $50 million is drastic, especially when she is going to be fined by authorities and face potential jail time. To really get over the grief of the daughter, they have to forgive. People forgive MURDERS that had specific intent to murder, and rapists..why can't they be regular people and forgive Brandy, and be compensated without putting Brandy up on the cross?
