Hollywood Stars OUT-ed

Check out the new issue of OUT magazine. They've just released their first Gay Power list. Great, right? Sure, for openly gay stars like Ellen and Rosie, or mega music producer David Geffen, who tops the list, but maybe not so much for Anderson Cooper and Jodie Foster who are gracing the mag's cover.

Sliver-haired fox Anderson and Oscar winner Jodie have never publicy admitted to being homosexual, though they've never denied it either.

"It's a bit of chutzpah on our part," acknowledges Out editor in chief Aaron Hicklin. But he says it wasn't just an attempt to stir up controversy. "The A-list and even B-list gays are mostly in the closet still, and those are the kinds of people we need to have on our cover. This is a way of addressing that."

It's a risky move on the part of the magazine. I'm excited to see what kind of response they get.

i hope the mag has lots of cash cuz i smell some major lawsuits...ever heard of slander and invasion of privacy...

DLB said:

I would not call it slander, no invasion of privacy. Maybe speculation, but not slander.

Yeah, if they get defensive and try to sue maybe they really gay?

j said:

this is neither slander or an invasion of privacy. it also couldn't be consider libel.

they are both public figures, which means something legally. also, they would have to prove that the claims are untrue and that they have been harmful. neither of which would hold up.

None of anyone's business but their own. Why does anyone even care anymore in this day and age. Live and let live.

oh please said:

Only the people who choose to out themselves should be outed. It's not for the mag to decide who should be outed

bf said:

I agree with oh please. The magazine should not be outing people who don't want to be outed just to get some more sales or attention. That's pretty low.

There is nothing wrong with being gay so the closet cases need to come out. The longer they stay in, the more society believes there's something immoral or wrong about being homosexual.

i guess if you're narow minded you would think that way in this day & age. come on, they did it to sell magazines, not a moral, social stance.

I find it funny that not denying you're gay means you are. Has anyone considered that these people who do not comment on their sexuality have the last laugh at you pathetic chumps?

jodie might be... gay?!? and is it really jodie and anderson behind those faces?

Clarice said:

These are two talented people. They choose to keep their private lives private, and their public lives are about their work. They should be left alone so we can focus on the other weirdos like Tom and Rosie and Jessica!

oh please said:

Weather they are gay or not is of no importance to me. Why should we care about their personal lives?? let them have SOME privacy.

Also, just because someone is "older" and doesn't openly date, does that mean they are gay?

Being a gay man, I love turning breeders to our side. Out everyone and lets get on with making our world the norm as it should be.

Doodler said:

Maybe they could get them on defamation of character.

mel said:

LOL! Turning man on...Adam and Eve were the example of norm. Adam and Steve, is just the exact opposite.

PP said:

All celebrities and hounded and judge about who they date, but I doubt the reaction that Brit married K-Fed is as strong as if she had married a woman (even if that woman was the sweetest lady in the world).

It is not right, but as an "obvious" minority, I can only ACT like I care!
