While I do not watch the show (and I am probably one of the 10 people on the planet that doesn't - just never got into it), I saw this bozo on a talk show and he was about entirely arrogant about his whole "rise to fame" thing. Let's just say he thinks a lot about himself. Fame? Who was he before Grey's? He's obviously a loser if he has to beat up on that cutie little TR guy, just because he's gay? Let's hope this Washington doesn't get any TV gigs anytime soon. LOSER!

I can see the fall of this show very soon, the only person left that is watchable is Sandra Hoo. Those producers do not know what the hell they are doing.That show is dunzo!!!!

I didn't think his character brought much to the show and glad he's gone. Though Meredith is whiney and stupid for losing McDreamy, I still think they have a good cast worth watching, and shows have sunk before only to rise again. I wouldn't write it off just yet.

I am so HAPPY!!! I am simply annoyed that it didn't happen sooner. If T.R. had called Isaiah the N word his demise would have been written that night and filmed the next week. Despite what anyone wants to say calling someone by the slur Isaiah used is as bad as the N word to someone who is gay and it is NOT okay. Which, was what Grey's was saying by keeping him on the show without consequences. I am so happy that Shonda Rhimes had the courage to fire Isaiah Washington. I hope she doesn't suffer a backlash from the African-American community for firing this actor. As a succesful African-american woman in the entertainment industry, Ms. Rhimes may come under fire for firing an African actor. I hope African-Americans support her decision to dump this arrogant actor who doesn't deserve to be on a hit show. Intolerance is intolerance regardless of who the target is. Kudos to Ms. Rhimes!

Mr Washington is supposed to be a professional. He has a right to his personal feelings but he should have been professional enough to either keep them to himself or withdraw from the show himself. PS: All actors, not just IW,if he does, hold themselves in high self-esteem. So what!! That doesn't stop them from giving believable performances. Nor does it stop audiences from appreciating them as fine actors. IW's personna, if claimed accurately, should not make any difference if the man did his job correctly and to the best of his ability. And from what I have watched from the beginning of the Grey's, IW has and then some.
There have been many actors who have had differences with directors, producers, other actors of a production. And most production high ups knew, unlike Rhimes, that the show would be a flop if they let the difficult actor go. And there were leading actors with social issues, WC Fields was an alcoholic & hated kids, as was&did Wm Boyd(Hopalong Cassidy),and they were never fired from their roles.
Actors are individualized group in their own right or else they wouldn't be able to be actors. I know I couldn't be fearless to perform. And we, as Grey's fans,having voice in rehiring IW

I believe that we are forgetting something, that any name calling of any sort is not really cool at all. This is a celebrity we are talking about here. If I ever got the chance to be one, I think I'd have a lot more strength of character than to call someone a name . My mom didn't raise me to call anyone out of their name, except I may have done it under my breath. I would just be so happy to be making the kind of money they make, I'd keep my mouth shut and keep my opinion to myself. I agree with one of the other comments, Dr. Burke's character was really interesting and his acting was great. And it is freedom of speech and he could have apologized and move on! Hey we are all human and make mistakes. Oh, well I will stop watching, anyways the show has been going on the decline before this exploded anyways. Dr.Burke's character was great and should have been recasted instead of eliminated. I really liked Christina and Dr. Burke together and the part could've been recasted with someone like Blair Underwood.

Dr.Burke's character will be missed. He blended well with the other characters and was smooth enough to pass as a surgeon. I'm sure we've all said things that we later regretted and have apologized and asked to be forgiven.
