Nicole Richie Spends 82 Whole Minutes in Jail
Four days just ain't what it used to be. Nicole Richie checked in to the Lynwood, CA jail Thursday at 3:15 p.m.and -- due to jail overcrowding -- was released 82 minutes later, at 4:37p.m., according to People.com. By the expectant mom's side were her baby's daddy, Joel Madden and her lawyer.
Nicole's booking stats? 5'1" and 105lbs. At five months pregnant.
"Miss Richie was cooperative during the process," the sheriff's department said in a statement. The statement also claimed that Nicole's time served was "based on her sentence and federal court guidelines." Apparently, under the current sheriff's policy, non-violent female offenders sentenced to 30 days or less are booked and released within 12 hours. As part of the sentence for her DUI charge, Nicole also agreed to serve a three-year probation term, must enroll in an alcohol education program and was fined $2,048.
I know my should mouth should be gaping that Nicole spent less than an hour-and-a-half in jail, but I'm more shocked about her weight. She's cracked the triple digits! Her booking photo is probably the best picture she's ever taken. Wonders never cease.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I honestly feel Nicole is now on the right track. I'm glad she didn't have to spend REAL time in jail. God bless her.

How Come most of the people on the blogs Hated Paris and said she deserved to be in jail and yet people love Nicole Richie? Paris went to Jail around 30 days for just driving on a s. license but Nicole Drives up the highway the wrong way, smokes pot, and does pain pills but she only spends less than a day? HOW IS THAT FAIR?

I really like her, i think this baby has really changed her. I think she is actually headed for a good clean life. Paris is not at all changed, she is all about partying still and she makes me sick.

Toni, toni, toni. Get it straight my child! I start out with purple passion and then move on to mad dog 2020 and then it's a bit of the ole jager. I may not be getting any lovin' but at least i'm getting my drink on. Amen.
i think she really looks food with that weight on her.i really hope with this baby coming soon she will start caring about her self and stop doing thing to hurt her self. also about the jail thing, i think it was a thing she went through with it.
I think it's sad that they all can do what they want to do, but if it was an average joe who did this, the judge would hammer it to us. Not only would we get 6 months jail time, but we'd also have to do the rehab and community service, along with a nice fine. How's that fair?
I don't understand why these celebrities don't just hire chauffers to drive them around to the different bars and clubs. They can afford it!

I feel very strongly about the whole DUI thing. My BF got in trouble 4 years ago for this and he spent alot more jail time, is still on probation and had to pay alot more money than that. I am glad he got hit hard, it taught him a lesson he will not forget. I don't care if your famous or not, it is a crime and everyone should have the extreme punishment for this act.
