BUT Micheal Vick should be punished just as bad, for all the HORRIBLE things he did to those poor dogs. I think they should kill anyone that would do any of that stuff to a human or an animal. If a urine sample was not taken at the time of his release, then Michael Vick can appeal the fact that his urine was dirty. They should have taken a sample before his release to gage how much THC was in his system at the time. Then all subsequenst UA's are the basis to determine if the UA was "clean" or "dirty". Most court systems request this initial UA and nine times out of ten the subject will test positive but they wait 30 more days and test the subject again. I am wondering if this is the case with Michael Vick. Was this his first UA (which is likely)and if it was it is unfair to call his the names that are posted on here. I am not condoning animal cruelty, and he should be punished for the charges levied against him. However it seems to me that DB does not report the complete facts and that is the equivelant of a tabloid.

The humane society kills more dogs in a day than Michael Vick ever did.

Since this is dated, I doubt anyone will read this, but for what its worth, here is my take. Federal prisoners are entitled to a maximum reduction of about 15% from their sentences if they behave. So people sentenced to prison in Federal Court serve at least 85% of their time in nearly every case. One way to get a sentence reduction is to qualify for the Federal Bureau of Prison's 500 hour drug treatment program. If you complete the program, you can get additional time taken off of your sentence. The thing is, you can't get into the program unless you have a documented drug problem. They don't want people getting into the program and taking up limited spots just so they can get a reduction. By testing dirty, Mr. Vick now has a documented drug problem. So he should qualify for the program, which could result in a sentence reduction. It isn't foolish at all for him to smoke dope in this situation. If he really does have a problem, its better that he test dirty and establish the fact that the problem exists. If he doesn't have a problem, and he is merely smoking dope so that he will qualify for the program, that is unfortunate.
