Thanks dr. Amy-Newsflash: Halle is mulatto which translates to her being half white and half black. Halle's luck with black men has been poor at best. I am African American and I embrace her as a black woman. If caucasian individuals can see past her skin color maybe she will be embraced by caucasians as well. If you look at the numbers her child will be 1/4 black, will that make you happy. I say good luck to Halle she deserves it. By the way in Monsters Ball she did not marry Billy Bob Thorntons character, she just did the mattress mombo with him. Just telling the truth, I have been blogging on this site for a little while and you can best believe there is a lot of racist comments made, some of them made on purpose and some made out of sheer ignorance. Although I am African American, my heritage includes French, Indian and Caucasian, but to look at the color of my skin all you see is African American. You are so correct in saying there are a lot of Caucasians with African American blood in them but they either don't know it, or are denying it. Just like African American blood is strong and you will know it's characteristics, it can also be diluted as in the case of Halle & Gabrielles child. There are several mulatto actors and actresses who pass for "White" for several reasons. Victoria Rowell is mulatto however she gave birth to a blue eyed blond haired daughter why? Because her baby's daddy is Caucasian. Jennifer Beals (of Flash Dance)is mulatto as well, but choose to pass for white. I could go on and on but you get the picture.

I am very happy for Halle Berry. She seems so happy. I wish her the very best on her upcoming motherhood. She will be beside herself when this child enters the world. I know I was, that is why I am so happy for her. She's had such terrible luck with her past marriges that maybe this time around she will be finally happy. And what a looker he is!

She is a woman, he is a man. What more is required for this to work out? Only they know. All of the other people, like myself, are only spectators on how this relationship unfolds. Unfortunately we are viewing this through our own vices and experiences and are commenting as if our own experiences are law. About the only thing said remotely here that has a grain of common sense is "time will tell". But for now, I wish them both the best of luck.

I'm not one for applauding women who deliberately have children out of wedlock, but in Halle's case I'm making an exception. She has sincerely tried the conventional relationships but they didn't work out. I wish her the best and hope she has all the legalese stuff taken cared of regarding this child because baby or not she is still a rich celebrity and you never can be too careful!

I certainly don't see what race has to do with anything going on here, but I will say that I am totally sick of this celebrity illegitimate baby thing. Can't they make the commentment, see if it is going to work and THEN have the baby. It certainly would be the better thing for the baby, not to mention all the young people in our country looking up to the "stars" for role models.
