Soap Star Sean Kanan Busted for DUI
Soap stars must want it to be known that they love their booze too!
A day after TMZ.com reported that General Hospital's Kirsten Storms was busted for allegedly cruisin' while boozin', the site reports that former General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful star Sean Kanan was arrested on suspicion of DUI on August 18. The Karate Kid III star was charged in Los Angeles with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol of .08 or greater. He'll face a judge on September 17.
This is the second strike against him -- he was convicted of DUI in 1998. But, judging by Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan's sentences, he'll probably do an hour in the can... or duck jail time all together.
I've actually met Sean on a number of occasions and he's a nice guy. One time -- the first time we ever spoke -- I had the uncomfortable job of asking him to go on the record about fathering a love child with his costar Gladis Jiminez. It was a pretty scandalous situation at the time -- I believe a DNA test was involved -- and he wasn't talking about it at all. But I was told I had to ask... and I did. I was terrified. So I pulled the receiver away from my ear, I didn't want to hear if he yelled at me, and just asked my question. After a little bit of a huff -- but no screaming! -- he gave me a quote. I later interviewed him two more times and he was completely charming, candid and lovely.
Charming, lovely -- yes. But, to be perfectly frank, I'm so friggin' glad I don't have to ask him about his arrest. The kid question took a good year off my life.

So what's the big story, I guess the soap stars figure its getting all the young celebs some attention, plus a few hours in jail wouldn't hurt!! besides Linsay got caught with cocaine, after driving under the influence and she didn't even have to appear in court !!!
Wasn't he the bad guy on Bold and the Beautiful for a while ? Remember catching a few shows . Seems as if there is a "rash" of DUI's .
He's buster, and I am disgusted. He can totally afford to call a cab.
Remeber these are rich young stars, who think bad things can't happen to them or that they aren't going to hurt anyone.. then there are the examples before them, a slap on the wrist and it goes away, not to mention it brings them publicity...
There sure are a rash of DUI amongst the celebrities, let's pray our children don't think it's cool to drink and drive. Someone has to step up and make and example out of one of these stars before the children that look up to them follow their lead.
Good morning Sonya - have not heard from you for a while . Maybe the lifestyles of the rich and famous drive to drink and do agree about the spate of the DUI's .
Hi QT, been missing you all but when my Chi is out of sorts I have to step back and self analyze. Sometimes I just come on here and read the comments, other times I will leave a comment or two.
This guy was one of my favs on General Hospital and Bold & Beautiful. Just goes to show being a celebrity will take it's toll one way or the other.

I watched Bold and the Beautiful because it was on during my lunch hour - but when I read about this guy's personal life and what jerk he was - I went to the news channel . I am not surprised about his DUI .
Hey maggietalk, this guy has always had a problem with drinking. What will it take to make the authorities in LA LA Land take this DUI stuff serious. I just wait for the day when we hear about Mr/Ms/Mrs Hollywood Star, either killing themselves or others. Something needs to be done now. Hey Gov. Schwarzenegger (I know it's not spelled right) your state is going to hell in a handbasket and all it's citizens will suffer the consequences.
Good day guys! I loved this guy in Karate Kid 3 even though he played a mean character. : ) I think a lot more celebrities/actors are drinking and driving-they just haven't gotten caught yet.
Hey Sonya you are right about our govenor, Instead of Schwarzenegger taking money from a bunch of different programs that are already poor, he should be raising the dollor amount on the DUI drivers... maybe that will make them think differently,

In the normal world with normal people you do get in trouble for drinking and driving... not so in the lives of the rich and famous...
Hiya stephanopoulos, and Trash Queen, (maggietalk I already chatted with you today, but hiya again) Where I'm from you not only go to jail, your car is impounded and that could run you upwards $350.00 and that's just for the first 24 hours.
Sonya -- you got that right -- that happens in all the states that I know about -- but then since when has la la land been a state ? With sympathic sheriffs , high powered lawyers , etc. , etc. those critters out there do not live like us .
