Paris Hilton's Do-Gooding Put on Hold

Paris Hilton's do-gooding put on hold
Poor Paris Hilton. She'll just have to wait a little longer before spreading her sunshine to Rwanda.

The foundation that was organizing the heiress' trip, Playing for Good, is "restructuring", so Paris is free to party a little longer, before having to put on her serious face.

"Paris has been a loyal and gracious supporter of Playing For Good but the foundation has to regrettably reschedule this trip," the organization said in a statement. "Playing for Good would like to thank Ms. Hilton for her generosity and her continued support of this initiative and is looking forward to rescheduling the trip with her at a later time."

Seriously, how happy do you think Paris is that she doesn't have to go right now? When she agreed to the trip she was trying to clean up her image, after her jail stint dirtied it all up. Now that whole ordeal, I'm sure, is just a distant memory in Parisland. Be on the lookout for an "I'm Not Going to a Poor African Nation Anytime Soon" party at Les Deux.

She could be doing something else in the meantime. I think she is trying to clean up her image and her heart is not in the right place. She could buy a truckload of food from a grocery store and sit outside in the cold and hand people bags of groceries. Doesn't take much planning and could really help a hungry person as soon as tonight. No press either!

Nobody really knows what it means to be Paris. But I think she's trying to keep a cool head against all the attention she's having. It's even amazing that she cares, what if she didn't? what are you people going to do? she doesn't owe it to anyone to be good. Don't hate her cuz she has it all...........

I deliver meals on wheels to the elderly and disabled in my community, volunteer at the homeless shelter, give food to needy people and volunteered one summer for the hospital as a candy striper. Paris can do so much more than I can. If I had her money, I would do whatever I could to help people. Of course buying her perfume today helped her even more!

Have you seen her hug any body in Rawanda yet.

good for you Morgan!!!!! I'm sure more than 1/2 of the people on here don't have the kind of money Paris does......... She could always find some charity to help people in her own home country......... yes I feel bad for the other poor countries! but HOLY SH*T......... when will people start taking care of people in our country..... when will Angelina and Brad adopt a poor parent deprived child from the states???????????

If she wants to help people ,why not help people in her own country, there are children, old people and veterns, and people who live on the reservations, who could really use the help

can we stay off from the arguments on each other and just share our own opinions about the story?

Paris has always and will always be about getting attention....... whether good or bad if she doesn't get the attention she might just go away!

Paris needs to make another movie. I've seen One night in Paris about twenty million times already. She should call her next movie All day in Paris.

To "wtf?", I don't think Morgan doesn't do that often because she probably can't afford a whole truckload of food. I know I can't! But it is true that acts of kindness don't have to be big and she could do something else. We can all commit acts of kindness every day, for free.

Paris is a leopard who will never change her spots in my opinion at the moment.

I'm sure that Paris had good intentions when she first made the obligation to go on this journey, however she lost insight as soon as she got out of that nasty jail stint. So many people forget what got them in trouble in the first place and they keep repeating the same behaviors. Lets just hope that she doesn't go off the deep end again. I feel she has learned from the ordeal, and in time we will see good publicity from Paris. Stay focused Paris.

I just spent a month in Rwanda for work (I work for an international organization and read gossip sites on the side, don't judge me!). Anyway, when I mentioned that Paris Hilton was coming to Rwanda, nobody, and I mean NOBODY, knew who she was. In fact, they told me a great story about how Natalie Portman came to Rwanda a few years ago and the organization she was traveling with had to go out and round up people in the streets and pretend to know her and be huge fans because her agent said she was feeling "unknown", a feeling that made her more uncomfortable than, say, being in Rwanda in the first place.

Anyway, thought it was funny. Rwandese think we're weird to obsess about things like this (who's obsessing?), but they had absolutely no interest in Paris Hilton, what a relief!

Rwanda is a beautiful country with a gorgeous landscape, delightful people, and crippling poverty. Still, in their superficial-free lives (for the most part), they seemed happier than most Americans I know.

Put down the crack pipe. Open your eyes. She doesn't care about anyone but herself. Its just more PR said:

Great Depressions are caused by the huge transfer of wealth to a tiny minority at the top of the pyramid, which as Einstein put it, causes 'instability' in the 'utilization of capital' which then results in 'increasingly severe depressions' with the severity of the depression correlated directly with the degree of income inequality that has developed in a society. In other words, greedy millionaires and billionaires are going to cause the worst economic depression of all time. As their paychecks get bigger and bigger, our economy becomes more unstable. I'm not discounting other major factors like sub-prime or gas prices. But if it weren't for that transfer of wealth, we would have been be OK. Bottom line. The middle class will soon live in poverty because of people like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and EVERY CELEBRITY. So don't fall for their 'humanitarian' BS. Its nothing but a tax deductable PR stunt. A lame excuse for their incredible greed. Now, the damage is done. Think crime is bad now? God help us.
