Scarlett Johansson Threatens to Sue Us Weekly
Scarlett Johansson is steaming mad over Us Weeky's newest cover, which insinuates that the starlet has had plastic surgery on her face. ScarJo's publicist gave OK! this statement:
“Us Weekly’s cover story regarding Scarlett Johansson and its clear implication that she has had plastic or cosmetic surgery on her nose is an outrageous and defamatory fabrication lacking any conceivable basis or proof, despite vehement denials by Ms. Johansson prior to publication. Not surprisingly, US magazine cannot provide the dates when she supposedly had this surgery, who performed the surgery, or what was supposedly done — all because there simply is no truth to the story. The publication made a pathetic attempt to validate its story by using two cover photos of Scarlett that were taken years apart with obviously different make-up and lighting, and then relying on an “expert’s opinion” (based solely on looking at the two photos) on what “might” have been done. It wasn’t.”
Scarlett is so upset that she even gave her own statement, vowing to sue the pants off the mag.
“I have always been straightforward with the press regarding my body image and I am very concerned that my fans (and perhaps even my employers) will feel mislead. Thus, I feel compelled to take immediate legal action against US Weekly.”
Jeez, she's pissed. I'm just glad we didn't include her in our Did They or Didn't They Plastic Surgery slide show.

I love it when the celbs come out swinging at the media...well I mean, get their people out swinging at the media.
So, you better look out Us Weekly. With all the swinging going on, somebody might end up with a broken nose.

Canadian...the differences between Britney & Lindsay and Scarlett are so numerous I can't believe you'd say that. Lindsay and Britney screw up their own lives and the paps are there to catch it. When things are said about them, generally it's true.
Scarlett has every right to be angry at plastic surgery accusations because it's false and slanderous. She didn't screw up and get caught. Maybe it isn't the worst thing they could say about her, but that doesn't make it any less upsetting. A lie is a lie.
Good for her. I saw those pics and got the implications. It would be the same if you looked at two pictures of me taken years apart and factored in make up, etc. I look totally different now than I did then. You grow up and your face changes, as well as your body.
More celebs should take these trashy rags to court. It's disgraceful and it contributes to the low self-esteem and poor body image of todays young girls and women. I mean, they see a celebrity being trashed and think they must look horrible by comparison.
Hello...she got the cover thanks to her publicist, denies involvement or claims they were misquoted, then some peon gets fired...just like politics. Same game, different arena.
i was in the grocery store the other night shopping for dinner to cook for my fam and while in the check out line i looked at the magazines. (i come here everyday, of course i admit to a casual glance at the vulture publications) and there was a story about trying to prove tom cruise's homosexuality. and they were using an ex porn star turned private eye to prove it. Really? honestly people? come on! i don't like tom cruise and couldn't give a rat's ass if he's gay. but i think that the popularity of TMZ has made magazines pretty much trash. and yep i mean all of them. it's so sad, a little funny in a purely hateful way, but non the less sad.
If you all hate the media so much, then why are you taking the time to not only read this article, but post your feelings about it?

I saw those pics on line and it is obvious that she did NOT have work done and any so called expert is getting paid to say it. The pics ar a couple years apart with lighting and make up differences but her nose looks the same. Good for her she tries to bring a good body image for girls since she's a not tiny anorexic. we can't have that! fir hewitt and not scar i'm glad they aren't takin it anymore!!!!!!!!! The photos pretty much look the same, the only diff. is the hair coloring and it looks like she has a tan. *shrugs* I guess if someone said I had a nose job I would be a bit upset too, but it could be a lot worse. Like someone else said she could be in the boat with Britney who can't stay off ANY magazine cover for a week.
I can understand being upset at lies about whether or not you're on drugs etc........ but big deal about a nose job!!!!!!! but then again, someone needs to set these mag's straight w/ throwing out their lies to everyone..... So if this is what it takes for them to smarten up on there stories then so be it, other than that I really don't see the big deal on whether or not she had a nose job!
I'd be really upset if someone was spreading that I'd had work done. I totally believe in the whole natural thing like Scarlett, so I think we should all be congratulating her for setting the mag straight!

I totally agree with her, she shouldnt let people talk shit on her that isnt true. People who arent celebs wouldnt like that done to them, and it shouldnt be any different with someone famous. I hope she gets everything she deserves, she's a beautiful young woman who has alot to be proud of and she doesnt need defamation or other BS being spread about her that isn't true.
