I think it's sick that Dr. Phil is going to do an episode about Britney. I don't think his intentions are to help Britney, I think he just wants to increase his ratings. Also, does anyone else think it's sick that someone in that ambulance took a pic of Britney? She's looking at him with shock and disgust too. How can anyone do that and sleep at night???

Its about time someone addresses whats going on with Britney. Dr. Phil is doing the right thing. He is a family friend and its not all about Britney. Scarlett you need to get your head from the clouds and realize that when there is a person with a mental illness or addiction in the family it affects everyone. Its not about the addicted person but theier selfishness and how they could care less how it thier beahvior affects and destroys a family. Her parents are no longer together..
Scarlett you should try and watch "Intervention" sometime and gain some insight cause truly there is more to whats happening that Britney..

A true family friend wouldn't air a show about mental illness. This friend could've expressed his thoughts and extended a helping hand with a simple letter or during his visit to Cedars. He is an ass who's making a buck off Britney, like everyone else.

I think if they ask him to help her and they think it will help her, then why not? Nothing else has helped so far. It's not as if she's worried about her privacy. He was spotted at the hospital. Maybe it will help her. It can't hurt, that's for sure.

People need to be less ignorant and judgemental of people with a mental illness. Someone here posted that is Brit is mentally ill she should not have her children, that is IGNORANCE and cruel. No one chooses to have a mental illness and they should not loose their basic rights because they are sick. It drives me crazy to see some of the people on here bashing Dr. Phil - her family ASKED him to help. Maybe all of you who think you have a clue about mental illness should do some research. I truly hope it never strikes any of you. Brit is a human being and needs help NOT judgement. I say hurray to Dr. Phil for making mental illness an issue that needs to be understood, sadly most people who have made the judgemental comments will never gain awareness and will always judge what they don't understand. Britney has mental problems. If she were a 'regular person', she'd be committed and treated. Her money buys her and all the rich people like her, freedom, exception, bias, etc. It's disgusting. This country needs to make big changes....we need to pull back with our liberal attitudes and expect rules and laws to be obeyed no matter who or what!!!

You have made some good points but at the same time Dr. Phil was asked in private to help Britney, not on tv. If he does this show and talks about mental illness with no mention of Britney, then fine, but he will use Britney as an example and that is wrong. She has not been diagnosed with anything yet, but until that happens, he shouldn't discuss her private matters with MILLIONS of people. He is not acting morally or ethically with this situation. Mental illness is a serious issue not to be taken lightly or to exploited for financial gain as Dr. Phil is likely doing. We shall wait and see if he takes advantage of the help that was asked of him.

if she has a mental illness, she could of very well had her kids before it came out. My bro was recently diagnosed with Scitzophrenia & bipolar disorder, with no signs until july 07 at 23years old. okay first of all I have bipolar and I knew she had it for about a year now. Dr.Phil is a great man and I think you are all imature and maybe even jealous. do you think he really needs Brits life to carry on his show? uh no! I think he is doing a show on her to help shine some light onto the areas that it is needed, because obviously no one seems to give a shit it's just something to gossip about. and to say that she shouldn't have her kids just because of a mental illness is complete fuckin ignorance! I have three kids myself and they all live with me and have since day one. all she needs is some understanding, proper dianosees, and medication. she's a person to and deserves the same respect that anyone would want. no one can possibly know what she is going through unless you've been there. I have never been one of her fans but I feel for her and my prayers go out for her. hang in there girl...

Just because we have a mental illness DOES NOT mean we can't be good loving parents. I also think Dr. Phil was doing this (he has cancelled it now) in order to shine a light on it. NO BODY is helping her, they all seem to be too busy getting what they can from her (I do not mean her family). It is VERY hard to force an adult to get help AND some people do not want to admit to having a mental illness because of the stigma attached to it...just read what people have said so far about her. Why would she want to admit it if some people think those with a m/i should not have kids? I can decide who knows about my BD but everything she does is in the spotlight.
