Celebs Pay Tribute to Heath Ledger
The death of Heath Ledger continues to be on everyone's mind.
Friends and family of Heath gathered in Los Angeles on Saturday night, to pay tribute to the actor. A small 30-minute service was held at Westwood Village Memorial Park, where Heath's former girlfriend Naomi Watts was in attendance. Around 8 p.m. that evening, a small group of mourners, all dressed in black, was seen in the lobby of the Beverly Hills Hotel for a private event, People.com reports.
While accepting the Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Cate Blanchett acknowledged Heath in her speech. "I'd like to pay special tribute to Heath Ledger who I think was an extraordinary actor and was well on his way to being a master himself," she expressed to the crowd. "We will all miss you enormously."
And, at last night's SAG awards, actor Daniel Day Lewis dedicated his award for outstanding male actor in a leading role, in There Will Be Blood, to Heath, calling him an "inspiration" and "unique." Though Daniel had never met Heath, he said he has been quite affected by the loss. "I suppose that's all I've been thinking about for the last few days," he said backstage. "I never met him. I thought he was beautiful. I just have a very strong feeling that I would have liked him very much as a man. ...I admired him very much."

That was an outstanding tribute to Heath by Daniel Day Lewis at the Sag awards. It was Daniel's night to shine but he took the focus off his award and graciously acknowledged Heath Ledger. Great guy! Heath you will be missed by all.

I just heard that protestors wrote 'Heath's in Hell' on cardboard outside of the SAG awards. And all I have to say to that is WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? People are so scared of things they don't understand or believe in (aka gay people) that they feel the need to do the only thing they know...complain about it. Never mind that he was just an actor portraying a role. They probably just sat around thinking, "I know, let's go let his grieving fans, friends and family see how stupid we really are." To all you protestors, GET A LIFE. A real human being has died. How dare you state he has gone to hell? Are you considered a saint for spreading your hate of gay people around the world? You are sick, disgusting people. He was a father, a man, and most importantly a human. If anything, he is in heaven now watching over his family and not caring at all what you stupid jerks are writing on signs. Heath was a brillant actor and from what I hear, a fabulous father. Heath was also one of my favorite actors and was very easy on the eys. I was so saddened when I heard the news I was brought to tears but now my feelings have changed. I hate to say it but what a selfish thing to do to not only himself but his family, his daughter and his fans. I think suicide is a very selfish thing to do to those who love you. There are hot lines everywhere and if he was having a bad day or was feeling depressed he should have consulted a physcian immediately. This was no accident it was definately a suicide and he had other options as we all do. I guess if you want to die at the age of 28 thats your right but to have the world in the palm of your hands and do this is just outragious and ridiculous. Who knows maybe he was a closet drug addict and just took a little more then usual. I guess there is no need to speculate, he is dead and nothing will bring him back but I am anxious to hear the coronors report and let the truth be known. I guess what I'm saying is I'm done grieving!!
