John Mayer Has Jessica Simpson's Back

It's no secret that John Mayer loves women -- but who thought he cared enough about the ones he's discarded to defend them against the haters?
While everyone in Texas is blaming Jessica Simpson for the Dallas Cowboys' loss last Sunday, John went on his personal blog and stood up for his ex-girlfriend. The sensitive singer wants the world to know that just because Jess is dating quarterback Tony Romo -- and despite the fact that the couple jetted away to Cabo San Lucas a week before the big game -- Jessica shouldn't be held responsible for the Cowboys' suckage factor. He wrote:
"This isn't a sports blog, and it isn't a publicity stunt. (but have at me if it feels right.)This is about doing what I think is right as a person, in this case speaking my mind.
I have never known anyone to have more pride in their home state and their upbringing in it than Jessica Simpson has in Texas. I don't really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state, and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I'm betting emotions are running high right about now.
All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know. It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don't try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn't be able to, but it's less work for all involved.)
I just thought it would mean something coming from the guy who has the absolute least to gain from this. And if I'm out of line in having written it, too bad. I can spare a Wednesday's worth of bad press if it means sticking up for a good soul."
Did you hear that? That's Jessica falling in love with John all over again.

...so atlast we finally kno why all the ladies love him!
Besides, it isnt like she twisted Romo's arm to go to Cabo with her. For crying out loud, he is a grown man, he can make his own decisions. And if in fact he can easily be distracted, then he isn't much of a quarterback.
If Jessica ran through the stadium, bucked naked then I can see her being a distraction and causing Dallas to lose. People always have to blame somebody when things don't go as hoped for. Kudos to Jon Mayer for pointing out the obvious.
Daily Blabber... you are so profoundly stupid... why do you read you?
1. That actually made me like John Mayer a little more.
2. Why doesn't anyone bring up the fact that Tom Brady had a baby with an ex-girlfriend and has a new girlfriend and hasn't missed a beat, if Romo is that distracted it's his fault, not hers.
Aw, that was nice of him.
malors - good points
sasa - I don't know why you read you either
A good ball player will not let anyone / anything distract him . Play the game Romo and stop the crying and blaming already .
First of all, Romo isn't crying & blaming Jessica. I believe this all started with the dumb ass media, who of course blows everyting out of proportion. I am proud to be from the great state of Texas, and I will be the first to tell you it isn't Jessica's fault. In fact most of the radio stations here think it is stupid that either one of them is catching the blame. Frankly, Romo, Witten, and Barber are the only guys who showed up to play the game on Sunday. If anyone is to blame, it was the Defense, and the recievers inability to catch balls that went right through their hands. I think more of them should have gone to Mexico with Romo & Witten, maybe they would have played better. Still love my Cowboys!!!
Aww. That's great of John!
I've always liked John. Saw him twice this year in concert and it was incredible. Great show!

I think john and jessica make a cute couple i hope they do get back together and i hope they stay together!!!
Hey John. You disgusting hypocrite pig. A while back you had the nerve to address the issues of 'humanity' in that lame-ass song of yours 'Waiting for the world to change'. Well, thats exactly what you doing. NOTHING. Hey John. Do you really expect the world to change for the better without a reasonable distribution of wealth and resources? Well? YOU CAN'T BE THAT STUPID. Hey John. A while back you addressed the issue of conservation with a suggestion that we all make just one sacrifice. WHAT A SHAM YOU LITTLE BXXXX. Don't you see how incredibly transperant that comment was? Basically, that means that RICH PEOPLE LIKE YOU can squander limited resouces like there is no tomorrow and still get away with your squeaky clean image simply by making one tiny little sacrifice FOR THE CAMERA. Get a clue you little snob. This is not about 'eco friendly toilet paper' for your RANK ASS. This is about BOTTOM LINE CONSUMPTION OF RESOURCES. It must be addressed if we are to make ANY PROGRESS WITH THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.
In other words, there must be reasonable caps placed on consumption of resources by and for EVERYONE. But PEOPLE LIKE YOU would never stand for it. You would rather drive a stake through the heart of a child. You ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT COMPROMISE YOUR EXTRAVOGANT LIFESTYLES. Not for Katrina, The energy crisis, global warming, or the good of humanity. NEVER. Yet you have the nerve to call yourelf an environmentalist because you make a few PR statements and pay someone to recycle your garbage FOR THE CAMERA. Hey John. Hows the mansion? Hows the Ford GT? Hows the world tour? Get my drift? YOU ARE NO HUMANITARIAN AND NO ENVIRONMENTALIST. YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A STUCK-UP LITTLE SNOB WITH AN EQUALLY STUCK-UP LITTLE TRAMP FOR AN EX GIRLFRIEND. I know what you're thinking. That I'm a hypocrite for typing on my 7 year old laptop on public access. Well, lets run with that. How much is too much? How much home, how much car, how much recreational travel, how much energy? GIVE ME A NUMBER. No? THATS WHAT I THOUGHT.
Good for him to stick up for her! She is catching a lot of crap for the Cowboys' loss the other day. She is not to blame.
Too bad for the Cowboys...gawd! what a bunch of poor sports. They can't even take responsility for their sucky performance as a football team. I never thought I'd be saying this but I feel bad that they're blaming Jessica. Dumb asses! Maybe they need to go back and play on a high school football team-cuz they sure act like a little spoiled rotten teenagers.
JD- You are a beating!! Go to another blog to vent your "issues"!!
JD why don't you tell us how you really feel? I respect John for posting that comment on his blog. True friends do take up for one another.
JD..you just admitted that you are using public access to do your ranting. How nice that us taxpayers are paying for your insane rantings. Go get help.
I am from Dallas and no one here is blaming Jessica Simpson for anything! It's the press, local and national, that is fueling the fire and making a story where there is clearly NOT one!
I thought winning & losing was all about the team,,not just one player,,who in turn passes the buck & blames a spectator in the stands.
Maybe "cowboy fan" is closer to the mark,,,,
Its the media making a mountain out of a molehill,,
After all someone has to win & consequently lose!
