Report: Six Prescription Drugs Found in Heath Ledger's Home
It will be days before we know what really caused Heath Ledger's death on Tuesday but, until then, we'll try to provide you with all the information we hear about the tragedy.
According to the Associated Press, sources say that six different prescriptions were found in Heath's room. The drugs ranged from sleep aids to anti-anxiety medications, but were all prescribed to Heath, and nothing illegal was discovered. Three of the meds were prescribed in Europe, as Heath had just returned from London.
The initial autopsy reports were inconclusive, so we'll have to wait to see if it was a dangerous cocktail of these drugs that made Heath's heart stop beating.

Once again Tracy, thanks for not doing what other sites are doing, which is say the rumors and then recant later with the truth. Heath and his family deserve the utmost respect and you have shown pure class. Sleep disorders are so hard to deal with. Like I said, I've had one since 3rd grade and I'm finally able to fall asleep on my own without any medication at all. Some people take a good nights sleep for granted and don't know what we sufferers go through. May you sleep peacefully and restfully in Heaven Heath.
this is to Heath Ledger's Folks, I hope that you find peace & solace with what has happened with your son,May he rest in peace & i'm not a religious person, & I only see good happening from your son's death. PEACE
I get sick of all the entertainment media speculating on Heath's cause of death. People have dangerous interactions or allergic reactions to drugs all the time. The focus should be on his fantastic acting abilities and the fact he was a down-to-earth, good and decent human being that tragically died early in his life. You're with God now Heath. Until we see you again, you will always be remembered for being a great person, son and father.
I like how they try to sensationalize how many prescriptions he had there. How about everyone takes a minute and thinks about the number of prescriptions they have around their house.
Let's see, I have some ambien (sleep aid); prescription cough syrup; eye drops; an empty prednisone bottle; birth control; malarone (anti-malaria)... They just make things that are perfectly normal sound so sensational. Oooh he had six prescriptions.
It's like when they raid a house and say that some guy had a veritable arsenal because he had five or six guns and a few hundred rounds of ammunition. Just going out to the range and shooting silhouettes, you can easily go through a hundred rounds in a single afternoon.
Nikki--
You are so right. I have about the same prescriptions at my house (except the malaria pills).
Well said Nikki!!!
Nikki.. I have to agree with you, I also have medications around my house for a sleep disorder and connective tissue disease. This tragedy has really made me rethink whether I want to continue to take them or not though?? Just don't know if I can function with no sleep.. I have children to raise. People who don't suffer with this problem do not understand what it's like to not be able to get a full nights sleep or even a few hours at times. I really hope they don't blow this out of proportion, I feel the family deserves so much more respect than that. Heath was a great actor, wonderful person and a super dad! I hope that's how he is remembered and not as a drug addict, which he was not! R.I.P. Mr. Ledger, you will be missed by so many.
Supplied by Mary Kate Olsen I'm sure.....she is evil!
Well, it seems to me that no in the media must go to see a physician on a regular basis...
Anyone who has ever had a cough etc and went to the Dr. usually comes out of there with atleast 2-3 prescriptions. So what is the big F*&%ing deal about 3 prescriptions?????
It was reported that Heath had trouble sleeping...well I do as well and my physician has given me numerous different meds to see which actually help me sleep....so does that make me a drug addict...if so then I will join the millions of americans that also have 6 or more prescriptions in their homes! Leave his memory in peace!!!!!! What ever happened to not speaking ill of the dead???? Get some manners and some ethics!!!!
I agree with Nikki. If someone went through my home, they would find a lot of rx meds as I also have trouble sleeping, suffer from migraines and have nerve damage for which I take two very powerful meds. No one can know what was going on in Mr. Ledger's life. I myself being a mother of four with a full time job and a very busy life know how difficult it is to function when you can't get any sleep and as much as I try not to rely on pills, there comes a time when your body just needs rest. Let this family grieve. Let Mr. Ledger R.I.P.
