Vanessa Hudgens Talks About Nude Pictures
First of all, good for the mag for taking a chance and putting V on the cover -- I'm sure they are getting tons of hate mail from moms and dads alike for "supporting" Vanessa's dirty actions. I think it's good that the teen star gets a chance to speak out in a place where her fans are going to hear her. And though I don't think she should do a PSA about keeping your clothes on for the Disney channel, at least some of her more mature followers will get the message.
"It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened," she tells the mag. "I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions."
Okay, but how did she explain the news to her mom? I can't imagine having to tell my mother anything of that sort now, at 33, OR being the mother who hears that news.
"I was just open with her, and she was just so cute," Vanessa said of her, seemingly, very tolerant mom. "She was like, 'Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.' [Laughs] My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I’m a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes."
Finally, Vanessa is moving on and putting those pictures behind her, but warns her fans to be very careful about who they let in to their personal business. "It’s very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you... you have to be aware of the people you’re around."
No kidding. Some on my friends would have been shamed for the rest of their lives, if the internet was around when we were kids. I don't have to name names -- you know who you are...

Personally, I think that Disney actress needs to have her head examined. She misses the whole point...sure, it's trrible the way things aren't "personal" on the internet--but what in the world was she thinking to even TAKE such pix?!
Some people dont realize the consiquenses and do things such as taking naked pictures as a "spur of the moment" thing. She probably wasnt aware that such a horrible thing as her intimate expierience ending up plastered all over the internet..seems like people will go to all lengths for money..pride or whatever the person who posted the pictures was getting at in the first place. It would be amazing if something like that happened and my mom told me that people like to get naked sometimes, i would proabably be grounded until I graduate! She's still an outstanding roll model..no matter what she did in her past.

The thing is that I don't get is a lot of these little teeny boppers who are her fans don't care at all about her nudie pictures one way or the other (trust me, I had to live with 33 screaming HSM fans this summer for a production of the stage version); so they aren't about to emulate that. It's the parents who are outraged, the parents who feel the need to shelter their children from something they don't care about, and the parents who make a mountain out of a molehill. Besides, she is 18, it's not illegal and I see no reason why she should be punished because some jackass decided to expose something that was personal of hers. She's successful, she's talented, and she isn't out partying and making herself into a trainwreck. She also happened to show a lot of dignity after the picture scandal. I think she's a great role model.
I applaud Vanessa for being brave enough to speak out on the mistakes she's made in the past.

well said, Hooves ! Parents need to get out of their sheltered lives and let kids be kids. This is not the 60s or 70s when exposing even your breasts caused such a big scandal !! Also, its not her fault someone she trusted did something this horrible. This was probably meant to be very private pictures. She probably wouldnt have taken them if she knew that person would betray her trust. Well done to her and her mom for handling the situation so well.
