A GIANT Super Bowl Party

tompettyhalftime.jpgSo, I'm finally recovered enough from last night's Super Bowl to talk about how fan-freakin'-tastic it was!

First off, go Giants! Not that I was a huge fan before -- I know very little about football in general -- but I always root, root for the home team, because that's what we're taught as a kid. And I love the underdog, so when Eli Manning threw that touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress, I screamed like I was a die hard fan. I'm not sure if I was happier that New York was about to win the Super Bowl or that Gisele Bundchen was going to have a long, bad night consoling Tom Brady. Either way, win win.

On to the entertainment -- my original reason for watching. I already told you how I felt about Paula Abdul. As for The National Anthem, sung by American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, I thought it was great. I know some people are saying that she was lip synching, but it didn't look like that to me. I thought she looked extremely nervous -- why would she be nervous if she was singing to a track?

On another Jordin Sparks note -- I pointed out to my pals that Jordin wears a purity ring -- you know she's saving herself. Well, my friend D incredulously responded to that with, "So, you're telling me nobody has tapped that sparky ass?"

Who says that? I'll tell you who. D.

Then came the half time show with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Were they not amazing? I was so happy for Tom -- he's been around forever, the crowd seemed to love him and he's about to embark on a tour. The guy proved he's still got it and worth your money for a concert ticket.

Finally, I was a big sucker for Peyton Manning cheering on his little brother, Eli, as he won his first Super Bowl. When the cameras showed Peyton proudly looking on, after the final touchdown, I actually screamed out, "I love the love!"

What can I say? Once a sap, always a sap -- even when it comes to football.

i couldn't really tell that jordin was lip-synching until my husband pointed it out. it sounded too perfect. i guess she would be nervous either way. if she was singing live, she'd be nervous that she can't carry it off. if lip-synching, she'd be nervous that she can't carry it off.

Please, write about what you know. Stick with stealing from Perez and TMZ.......

Jordin did sound authentic and very good though.

I agree that Jordin looked way too nervous to be lip synching. Regardless, I thought her rendition of our national anthem was beautiful.

I agree with your Giants comment as well. We were all cheering for them big time at my house. I was thrilled that the underdog took down the big. bad machine. Gotta love Eli Manning - he is like a 12 year old version of Peyton. And Giselle? Who drinks wine at a football game? Please!!

Loved Tom Petty as well. He will be here this summer. Watching him with The Heartbreakers last night made me want to see them live.

It was the best Super Bowl game in recent history.

I think everyone pre-records & then lip synch's the National Anthem for the Superbowl. It certainly wasn't just Jordin Sparks. I know for a fact Whitney Houston did it quite a few years ago & she rocked the house. That's still the best version ever. I think they (the producers) just don't want any cold feet or slip ups.

Let me get this straight: you root root root for the home team. New York-New England -in ARIZONA. I must have drank to much, whose the home team. You know nothing about football would be an understatement. Curly hair would be straight hair drunk. I LOVE THIS SITE, I feel drunk and I'm not drinking. Trust me at the end of the night, Gisele gave Tom a field goal, lose-win win win.
