Beyonce's Dad Has Fightin' Words for Aretha
Beyonce's dad and manager, Mathew Knowles, isn't about to let Miss Aretha Franklin go off on his daughter.
When asked about the B's introduction of Tina Turner at the Grammys, specifically referring to her as "the queen" -- which made Aretha mad -- Papa Knowles fired back at the Aretha's comments.
"As a manager I am not taking something this ridiculous to Beyonce. Beyonce referred to Tina Turner as a 'queen,'" he told CelebTV.com. "Not queen of gospel, queen of soul, queen of blues, Queen of England. I consider my wife a queen and sometimes call her that. Does Aretha have a problem with that?"
That's actually pretty funny, Mat. What's not going to be amusing is when Aretha shows up at the Knowles house to settle the score. I'm pretty sure she can take Mathew. And his wife. And his daughters. And their pets.

I'd like to know what Tina Turner has to say about Aretha's adamant feelings that Tina should not be called a queen.
I just don't understand 1.) why aretha is making such a huge deal over this and 2.) why beyonce's dad is actually keeping the fire going.
to me it seems stupid and pety and not even worth meantioning. but whatever.

There is enough room for all the fabulous Divas to share in the music industry's hall of fame. I just think Franklin has held the title "The Queen" for such a long time, (uncontested I might add) I'm sure it came across as a snub. I think we would all be surprised by what "titles” people consider are important to their identity. B's dad is too old to not understand how Franklin may feel and should just let the subject die a fast death and not add fuel to the fire. Lastly, call Franklin fat, but just don't STOP calling her "The Queen." :-)

First off, it was the media who stated all of this. But rightfully so Beyonce should have been prepared for what she was gone to say...they generally do not send anyone on stage cold. Everyone needs to stop making excuses for mishaps. The media and public take Diva's and Diva's status lightly. Aretha and Tina is a Diva's, Beyonce has a long way to go, if she ever makes it.
