Liz Hurley Accused of Being a Major Cheapskate
Doesn't seem like the people with the most money are the ones who are always counting every penny?
Elizabeth Hurley and her gazillionaire husband, Arun Nayar, are being accused of completely low-balling their maid/nanny. Violet D'Souza has filed legal papers saying that the couple paid her as little as $2.33 an hour for as many as 70 hours of work a week in their home in London. And they allegedly paid her in the Indian currency of rupees!
Just so you know, in Britain, the legal minimum wage is $10.71. We should all go work there!
Liz and Arun's former employee was set to take her case to an employment tribunal - but the hearing was canceled when the maid was reportedly offered a five-figure settlement.
Five-figures? Don't settle for anything less that six. At least.

I feel so sorry for these maids! The other day on TV there was a housecleaner in court who said she gets paid $25 per house, even Nelly's!!!!! I'm sure Nelly can afford to pay MUCH more for his huge mansion! Disgusting!

What a joke. I get paid around $19 an hour plus shift allowance, then on Saturday I get time and half for 1st two hours then double time thereafter, then on Sundays I get double time all shift. There is no way I'd work for $2 odd an hour. These people should be ashamed of themselves!! I was already sickened by this couple from when they got married, with all of the things that were GIVEN to them to make their day "special". It seemed like they didn't pay out a single cent, yet they could very much afford it. I'm still not married as my fiance and I are trying to save up for a wedding, and I'm not talking about an extravagant one either. When are these people going to stop taking and start giving????

A lifestyle which many individuals middle class or minimun

I have no sympathy for her....I do however feel bad for

She is a wonderful Actress who brings much joy and pleasure
to the World and should not be humiliated by this....

Yah thur cheap skates but she's forgotten one important fact bout Britian! It's bloody expensive to live thur so even if ur makin $10 per hour that's not gonna be worth much when u wanna buy sumthing to eat! lol totally random but just thought i'd add that little fact!
