Pregnant Nicole Kidman Denies Drinking at Oscars
Cindy Adams is in trouble!
The NY Post columnist printed yesterday that a pregnant Nicole Kidman was dipping in to the hooch backstage at Sunday's Oscars.
"Boozing backstage during the Oscarcast is a no-no," she wrote. "But if you're pregnant Nicole Kidman it's a yes- yes. She wanted white wine. She got it."
Now, Nicole's rep is fuming mad and insists that the claim is completely false. Catherine Olim of PMK, sent Perez Hilton the following statement --and it's a doozy:
"I try to ignore your column, unlike most of the rest of the world, because it is so nasty. But I have to tell you that Nicole Kidman most certainly did NOT drink white wine or any other alcoholic beverage backstage. She had water and lemon zinger tea. That’s it. I know, I was there with her I cannot remember that last time that Cindy Adams got anything right. She’s an idiot, and you can quote me."
Okay, then. I love a good, public catfight.
I tend to believe that Nic wasn't drinking -- she's been waiting so long to get pregnant, I'd expect her to be super-cautious. And Cindy Adams? Not exactly the sharpest tack in the box anymore.

I doubt that one glass of white wine would effect a fetus but this is not something I know much about. Probably wrong.
I can't see her taking the risk with even one glass. I think she should sue Cindy Adams for defamation of character or slander or whatever.

Why isn't anyone making more of an uproar over that celebrity that was seen smoking SEVERAL times with a giant prego belly? At least thats hard evidence, leave nicole alone .. im certain this isnt true.

It is ok to have an ocasional glass of wine while pregnant. I did it and there is nothing wrong with it as long as you don't have the whole bottle! I'm sure if she wants a glass she won't be afraid to admit it.
I don't know why it would be such a big deal anyways it's one glass so what i seriously doubt that it would harm anything!

Okay i never usually write on these sites , but i have to clear something very important up. It doesn't matter if you have a sip of alchol or a glass ANY AMOUNT during your pregancy can be harmful to your growing baby. I am studying this at college rigth now. Doctors don't know why some kids are effected with fasd and other are not with mothers that drink. So don't even think of drinking, your child will pay for it the rest of their life.
Any alcohol during your pregancy can hurt the unborn child. No amount is safe. I am studying this at college right now and fasd is not what you would want for your unborn child. JUST DON'T DRINK WHILE PREGANT, not even a sip, it can harm the growing baby. Doctors don't know why that some mothers drink and their baby is fine and others aren't it is just not worth it.

I doubt its true as she's had a miscarriage before and any mother thats been threw that would take precautionary steps to avoid another one. I hope she sues them.

Ask a pregnant woman in Italy about drinking wine while pregnant. Like anything else, in moderation, a drink every now & again during pregnancy is NOT going to harm a baby! Back in the 50's, darn near EVERYONE smoked, including pregnant women, and I don't think it affected their children. Also back in the day, there were no such thing as seat belts. Things change, times change.
I wonder how many women drink NOT knowing they are pregnant.

Susie, Your professor is wrong. If you talk to any doctor they will tell you one glass will not harm a fetus. Red wine is actually good for you. Doctors do not advise this because one glass to some can mean 20 oz. which obviously is not healthy.
One glass- 8 oz.= no harm.
Oh and I studied this in college as well.
I completely agree with Donna. One drink will not hurt. 8oz of beer or wine contain very little alcohol, especially if it's only on a rare occassion. I too don't believe this story whatsoever. Nichole misscarried with Tom's child just after their separation. She wouldn't risk the fetus' health.
I don't think that Nicole would risk it after her heartbreaking miscarriage. Although as for drinking through your pregnancy it all comes down to how much AND at what stage of the pregnancy you're at.
How does anyone know what she would do? It's all a guess on our part. Celebrities, at least some of them, do a lot of things you think that they wouldn't. But fetal alcohol syndrome is real.

I drink a glass of dark wine once in a while and my little baby girl is growing great and theres NOTHING wrong with her. Obviously if your an alcoholic and you drink everyday or 2 or 3 times a week its unhealthy, but enjoying a nice glass of wine once in a while is absolutely fine. Its not like your taking shots or hauling down a bottle of rum.. jeez. So, so what if she did drink some, it's nobodys bussiness really..
