Patrick Swayze will be dead in 6 months. I am not trying to be cruel. My husband died from it at age 44, 4 1/2 month after being diagnosed. It is an incredibly vicious cancer. My heart goes out to him and his family. They have a very tough road ahead.

My Mother died from this cancer 15 years ago. She was diagnosed and died 5 1/2 weeks later.
But a friend of ours was diagnosed just 2 years ago, and so far she had beat it. Apparently the Dr.s tried some new type of surgery and it has worked so far.
My prayers and thoughts are with him and his family. This is such horrible news.

My father was diagnosed with it, and he only lived 2 months after. It is one of the most uncureable cancers out there because detecting it is very difficult. Usually gives symptoms similar to Hepitatis C or some other ailments. Hence it is often missed.

If, and only if, they found it in its very early stages he may get to live a few more years.

I hope he is one of the lucky few.

I almost forgot :next of kin: watched it 20 times, still love it. God takes people from this earth when there work is done and he needs them in heaven. He got himself an angle in patrick when his time comes. Hopefully it will be much later.

Its a very very rare thing to survive pancreatic cancer, most people live anywhere from 3-10 months from diagnosis even with chemo, and its one of the most painful cancers besides liver cancer to have.

I hope he truly makes it or if he should succumb he goes very fast as its terrible to watch someone go threw this kind of cancer.

OMG, I really hopes he gets better. This actually scares me bc I had pancreatitis a few years ago, which simply means the pancreas is inflamed. I've never heard of a pancreatic cancer.

Alice. it's called blind faith, as you pointed out, for a reason! You don't have faith with your head, and it doesn't mean that you should need to explain it to anyone else. That pretty much goes for most religions in my book.

This is absolutely heart breaking!
I went thru a horrible expierence with my aunt who lost the battle to pancreatic cancer. The only positive thing that came out of this was she didn't suffer long and that was only a positive for her, not our entire family. She was diagnosed 2-3 days before she died. It was absolutely one of the worst expierences of my life.. I really hope the best for Patrick and his entire family. Put a lot of trust in God and try to remain strong.

We are all so very sad to hear the news. Patrick is one of our fave actors, especially because of his role as "Johnny" on Dirty Dancing. My daughter and husband always play out the roles of "Baby and Johnny" when dirty Dancing is on and they dance like the characters in the movie. It's so sweet. PEOPLE for God Sake, do you think he needs to hear how your Husband, Dad, Aunt, Mom died of Pancreatic Cancer with in days and months of their diagnosis? My GOD, have some sensitivity and some class. I am a cancer survivor from one of THE most deadly forms of cancer out there and people like you did the same exact thing to me. There was even a girl that I barely knew that told everyone I was going to be dead in 6 months. Here I am 30 years later.... Am I aware of how bad his particular cancer is? As long as he can still dance, he'll beat it! I've read that it's one of the things that make him happy (Us too!) and psychological control over the disease is key. My first Mother-in-Law lived 10 years with 5 different types of cancer because she was a fighter and didn't want to let it beat her. He's a fighter too and I'm sure his family, friends, and many fans will be there to lend their support. Personally, I love Patrick. He dances beautifully. I send my love and support and hope he gets through the treatment without too much discomfort. Sometimes it's worse than the disease.

I Was Shocked to know that my favorite actor has cancer and I love him to pieces he is my role model and I love him so much I love his movie Dirty Dancing i can recite all the words to the movie because i have watched it so many times Johnny?! patrick, i feel you can overcome almost anything as long as you keep the faith. my mother just beat cancer plus her leg was amputated twice (the same leg) all in 2007. she also survive 6 surgeries. just hold on and try your best to be strong.and you can beat this. i send my love+prayer.

This man, Patrick Swayze, is a celebrity who probably has not ever made the gossip columns in an unflattering vain as some others, not mentioning any names here, do daily. So it does definitely sadden me that he, & not someone who is very hard core, has been struck by this tragedy. I really wish no one ill fortune, but Patrick deserves good fortune, not this. I pray that if there is even the remotest possible medical treatment for a cure or remission that can help him that his doctor does pursue it. I hope God will see fit to save this good man and that Patrick will have the stamina, which I think he has, to fight this dreaded disease that normally does not have a good prognosis. May Patrick's wife remain positive and strong for him and for herself; this does help the patient more than we realize as I speak from experience of having family members who succumbed to cancer. I, and all your fans, Patrick, are praying for you.

When Dirty Dancing first previewed in the theatre, I had just had surgery to repair broken bones in my ankle from a championship softball game. We won (LOL). I had a cast up to my hip. To cheer me up, my friends took me to see Dirty Dancing at the theatre, because they knew I wanted to see it real bad. It was not easy to get me into the car (LOL). One friend hung his head out of the window all the way to the theatre (LOL). When we got there, they told the theatre manager how much I loved Patrick Swayze, so the manager let me and my friends sit through 6 showings of the movie. I cried every time. THANK YOU PATRICK FOR ONE OF MY BEST MEMORIES IN LIFE!!
