The truth is that the types of people who write these things for magazines are usually big wannabes. They aspire to be more but they really aren't much of anything and they know it. So they delight in being mean to the rich and the famous. It makes them feel big when really it just makes them seem small to the rest of us.

Maxim did it for the shock value to sell its magazines. Is Sarah the most beautiful in the world? I don't know. But I know she isn't the most "ugliest". But in the end "who cares?", because she is the most beautiful to Mathew. Maxim is a magazine that caters to men in general, and they don't care about the individual beauty. They only care about the "cookie cut" models they can lay their lens on. Because it takes no thought to appreciate a model, they are designed to catch your visual attention, and that is as far as it goes. But individual beauty plays upon all of your senses, not just the visual. It is a beauty that demands further investigation and discovery. And the little flaws that the search may unearth make that beauty the more substantial and real that anyone can lay their hands on. Models only have visual, no mistery, no intrigue, it is nothing but a preety wrapping of an empty gift box at a window display of your neighborhood Nordstroms.

I just want to preface this by saying I'm not a hater or anything, but I'm kinda glad they pointed this out. I remember on one Family Guy episode when they were talking about FCC regulations, Peter says, "But they let Sarah Jessica Parker on TV and she looks like a foot!" Hilarious and not really so inaccurate. She has a really great body (totally jealous) but her face is pretty harsh. It was kinda annoying after the whole Sex & the City thing that everyone was fawning all over her as beautiful and a fashion icon. Patricia Field is the one that picked out the clothes, I don't remember her being thought of as best dressed before then.

I too got a little irratated when mags kept on

i have two thoughts on naming SJP "unsexiest woman"

the first - i love SitC, and i think SJP is an engaging actress who brightened that show. i like she & her husband as a celebrity couple. i think SJP has class, style and is a decent, grounded person. i don't think she is unattractive.

the second - woman should be jumping for joy that men consider SJP unsexy. she is the epitome of what women consider sexy: bone thin. and clothes fit her adorably because designers design clothes for women who are bone thin. women need to embrace the idea that men find curves sexy, and the more we deny ourselves that idea, the more irritated we are that men do not uphold the same stick figures we uphold as our touchstones of sexiness.

Beauty and sexinest is in the eye of the beholder, and not exactly what Maxim has to say got anything to do with the whole wide world...well, they make money for that comment I'm sure. But it doesn't mean that Sarah Jessica Parker really is the unsexiest Female, she does not need to be sexy because she is beautiful and not only outside but definitely inside and that's what counts, she is aging gracefully without the help of latest technology that only speaks money to get you to be more beautiful or sexy than what "Born Beautiful" naturally means. Even 10 to 20 years from now she will always stay natural beauty, and that is sexinest means to most of us. Oh, good grief! Wish we as a culture could get over this. When I did makeovers for Estee Lauder and Christian Dior, few of the women would be considered anything other than plain without make-up. However, most of them had an inner beauty that shone through. In my real life as a portrait artist, I often had to search for the beauty my clients wanted. People have beauty. Does it have to be cookie-cutter? And sex appeal often has nothing to do with looks.

I think SJP is totally HOT! I can't take my eyes off of her when I watch Sex in the city. I really don't get where any of this is coming from....I think it must be some sort of hoax. SJP is such a smart business women that maybe this is simply one form of promotion for the upcoming film. That would be my best guess! Because she's obviously not ugly, and, in fact, quite charming and sexy.
