I think Brad is a major do-gooder and he really "appears" to be giving back to the community. Wonder how much the celebrities that did appear on Idol last night gave? Did they DONATE or get PAID for their time? Just curious.

I DVR'd it and will watch it this weekend. Better that Brad and Angelina be doing something for others instead of worrying about partying and dining at all those popular restaurants in L.A. People can say what they want about them and feel the way they want to, but you can't say anything more than "they are just doing all this good for PR." You can't say that they are drunks, drug-addicts or losers. They are doing very well for themselves and the world. Haters always say that they don't do for the U.S. as well as the rest of the country but I think New Orleans should remind you otherwise.

Question: If they give 1/3 of their earnings to charity and get to write it off as a tax deduction, wouldn't they have more money if they just kept the original amount? Do some research and find out how rich they were last week. Check again at the end of the year. They will be even richer than they are now. More wealth will be reaped directly from the fans in the way of DVD/CD sales, celebrity merchandise, TIVO, satelite radio, ect. Indirectly from the rest of us in the way of commercial air time, endorsement deals, pharmaceuticals, medical testing, ect. All of which transfer obscene levels of wealth from the middle and lower classes. All of which redistribute that wealth to people like Brad, Simon, Paula, Miley, Billy, the network sponsors, and all the executives, producers, stock holders, ect. The money 'given back' is a drop in the bucket. Just like the 500 million given to charity by Exxon. Thats right. Even Exxon gives to charity. Over 500 million that I know of. But merely a drop in the bocket compared to their OBSCENE profits. ITS A SHAM. Just like this 'Idol Gives Back' crap. NOTHING BUT A CALCULATED PR STUNT. As more United States wealth rises to the top, the middle and lower classes inevitably suffer. This reduces the potential tax reveue drawn from those brackets. At the same time, it wreaks havok on middle and lower class communities and increases the need for financial aid. Not to mention the spike in crime because of it. There is a dominoe effect to consider. IT CAN'T WORK THIS WAY. But our leaders refuse to acknowledge this. Instead they come up with one trick after another to milk the system and screw the majority. These decisions are heavily influensed by the 1% club. Every year, billions of federal tax dollars are diverted behind the scenes back to the rich and their respective industries. Loans from China have been necessary to compensate in part, for the red ink and multi-trillion dollar transfer of wealth to the rich. At the same time, the feds have been pushing more financial burden onto the states who push them lower onto the cities. Again, the hardship is felt more by the majority and less by the 1% club. The rich prefer to live in exclusive areas or upper class communities. They get the best of everything. Reliable city services, new schools, freshly paved roads, upscale parks, ect. The middle and lower class communities get little or nothing without a local tax increase. Which, they usually can't afford. So the red ink flows followed by service cuts and lay-offs. All because of the OBSCENE distribution of bottom line wealth in this country. So when people forgive the rich for their incredible greed and then praise them for paying a greater share of the FEDERAL income taxes, its like nails on a chalk board. I can not accept any theory that our economy would suffer in any way with a more reasonable distribution of wealth. Afterall, it was more reasonable 30 years ago. Before Reaganomics came along. Before GREED became such an epidemic. Before we had an army of over-paid executives, bankers, celebrities, athletes, attorneys, doctors, investors, entrepreneurs, developers, and sold-out politicians to kiss their asses. I would not give to a charity where the money is given out of this country. We have our own problems and should take care of our own first. Our children need help before any others. I just watched the video. Let me just say first that Brad looked like his usual old haggard self. As far as the other we have kids and people here in just as much need. Would I give to their cause absolutely not. Give me a video of abused children here in our country or abused animals and you will get my attention. I would not give to any charity that Brad and Angelina are associated with. If they want to help them let them give the money.

I give to the SPCA both national and local 2X a year. I give to the Abused Children's fund for my State 2X a year. I also give to St Jude's 2X a year. Those are the charties I deem worthy of my money. I feel like my money is going to a very good cause and is much appreciated. Again I would never give to anything Brad and Angelina are associated with. I do not feel there is any sincerity at all on their part.
