My sincerest condolences go out to Cameron and her family. I lost my Dad unexpectedly last year. Death is always a difficult thing to deal with it. However, it's especially painful and trying when your loved ones die suddenly..no warnings....nothing...and then they're gone. My heart really goes out to them.

I've lost my father as well. She needs to just take some time out and she'll deal with the pain in her own way. Time will make it easier, but never better.
BlogBrat, why would this have anything to do with hospital negligence? There's certain types of the flu that people die from, it just happens. Nothing to do with the hospital.

I used to be Emilio's golf instructor in Long Beach. Early on I did not know "who he was". He was a fantastic guy and treated me like a son. Every lesson he brought me a cigar and offered to buy me a beer afterward. He would invite me to go on his boat with him, I never went. The gentleman who introduced us told me that some day he would tell me who he was. The day I found out he was Cameron's father I was like wow....in a million years you would not have known he was the parent of such a famous star. He was a cool cat...God Bless to the Diaz family.

It's a terrible blow to lose a parent. I've lost both of mine now and it makes you feel just cast adrift; I feel like an orphan. Somehow, you just think your parents will always be there. I now can't fill in anything when they ask for a "permanent address". My sympathies to Cameron and her family.

I really feel for her. Her father was so young and this was so unexpected. I do not think it fair to blame hospitals, sometimes the immune system is down and a person is more affected. I do not know if he had the flu vaccine, but it was not very efective this year. It will take a very long time for her to begin to get over it, and she never will completely. I cried for 2 years when my father died and I still think of him every single day. He was a great Dad and I will always miss him.
