Hilary Duff Dishes On the Competition

Hollywood good girl (don't call her that!) Hilary Duff hasn't really been in any sort of celebrity scuffle since she and Lindsay Lohan were on the outs over Aaron Carter -- which was like a lifetime ago. If you think about it, Lindsay's been in so much adult trouble since then, it's amazing that these two girls ever had the same taste in boys. But, anyway, Hil talks to the new issue of Allure about some of the girls who are considered to be on the same plank as she is and, though I think she's trying to darken up her squeaky clean image, she's going to have to get a little nastier that this.

"It's hard to find people who don't feel like they're in competition with you," Hillary said in the mag's May issue.

So, tell us what you really think about Lindsay, Miley Cyrus, and Avril Lavigne (who once called Hilary a "mommy's girl" -- gasp!).

On Lindsay: "Supposedly, I stole Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend. We were, like, 13! And I've never stolen anyone's boyfriend! I don't know how you do that! . . . She was talking about it and I wasn't. It made us both look bad and put up a big weirdness. Really she was just a girl my age. We are fine now, by the way."

On Miley: "We don't have each other's phone numbers. But when she meets me, she's excited. It's cute – I see a lot of myself in her."

On Avril: "I said something about how she didn't like her fans dressing like her, and how she should appreciate that because it's a compliment. She called me a goody-goody. Everyone is trying to prove who they are, and their position. So, I'm 'the good girl.' She's 'the bad girl' or 'the party girl.' Sarah Jessica Parker doesn't take her clothes off, but she's not a 'good girl.' [Adult actors] don't get tagged like we do."

There you have it. I appreciate that Hilary is decent role model for young girls, but everyone has a dark side. I'd really like to see hers.

SJP was tagged "Unsexiest Woman". How does Hil not think adults get labels, too?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hilary Duff! Just because we haven't seen her mugshot on the pages of In Touch or Us Weekly doesn't mean she's a goody-goody. She just happens to have some self respect. She hasn't let anyone else drag her down into a lot of BS. She's a great role model for young girls.

As a fellow "good-girl" I have tons of respect for Hilary Duff. I think she makes a decent role model for young girls. I also think it's in extremely bad taste to try and encourage a "dark side" or find something bad about a young woman that is doing the right thing. All that does is reinforce the idea amoung young girls that there is something wrong with being a respectable young woman and something right with being wild and poorly behaved. I would rather have one of my nieces called a goody-goody than a tramp any day.

i Love Hilary too! i think she is awesome! I love all kinds of music and i've always liked her songs. Good girl or not she's a cool girl. There's nothing wrong with being nice to people and i respect and like celebrities who respect their peers. It makes them look so much better and i think it helps their career too. GOOD FOR YOU HILARY!
