I agree that it could be panic attacks. My opinion is also unprofessional, but I am a performer and somedays just get to me and my heart won't slow down and I end up either tweaking out or passing out. Regardless, he's really talented and I hope he gets better soon!

I don't think its panic attacks at all. I am wondering if it is a type of heart arrhythmia. It sounds like it might be something along the lines of Wolff Parkinson White or something like it. I have been in the medical field for many years and personally know someone who has similar problems that was diagnosed with WPW, she was born with it but the problem didn't show up until her early to mid 20s. I suggest he check in with a cardiologist just to make sure its nothing serious. Unfortunately, arrhythmias don't often show up correctly in the ER setting.

I don't buy it. The major networks are plugging the health care industry every chance they get. The plugs are woven right into the story lines. These 'reality' (yeah right) shows are no exception. I'll throw out a few recent plugs just from memory. Dancing With the Stars, Deal Or No Deal, Amnesia, Biggest Looser, The Apprentice, Law And Order, Numbers, CSI, and Prison Break. Not to mention all the 'hospital' shows. The major networks are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies who just happen to produce 'medication'for 'panic attacks' and any other condition you can come up with. Not to mention the parent companies and coorporate partners. With BILLIONS of dollars at stake, they will do whatever it takes to maximize that bottom line. Including subliminal advertising. This is why so many people in the advertising industry are also trained in psychology. I would be willing to bet that many writers are as well. Its a very shady industry. This was just another successful plug for the health care industry and another gimmick to keep us watching. Just like Marie Osmond's 'fainting spell' last year. I'm not saying that every reality show event is planned ahead of time. But the vast majority are. If this wasn't planned by the producers and writers, then it may have been planned ahead of time by Cook to garner more attention and sympathy. If thats the case, he's got this whole 'celebrity' thing down pretty good. Hey Angelina! Better keep your game on! You pig.

Betty Jo. Is there anything else that might cause an arrhythmia? Like maybe, some over-prescribed and often unnecessary 'medication' to lower cholesterol? Check those drug company profits lately? I'm not bashing you personally. For all I know you could be an expert with the best of intentions. But the industry you work for SUCKS.
