There actually were quite a unflattering rumors going around about her back in the day and they were having a very negative impact on her image. As much as it pains me to say this, he's right about her needing to clean up her image back then. She was rumored to be a lesbian and having an affair with her assistant. She was also supposed to marry Eddie Murphy but something happened, can't remember what. Also, I believe there were rumors of her having drug or alcohol issues before she married Bobby Brown. It appeared that she was, like a lot of young female celebs today, trying to keep her closet door shut so she could continue to profit from a squeeky clean image. We all know nothing cleans up a tainted rep faster than domesticity.

Now, all that being said, please bear in mind that I'm only in my mid-20s so I may be somewhat misinformed about this. I wasn't that old at the time and I'm just going off things I've heard.

I Have been a fan of whitney's since the 80's and what Bobby is saying is not true. There where rumores about her sexuality but it was nothing that was hurting her image. At that time Bobby was into drugs and partying, if whitney was trying to clean up her image why would she pick someone that was in the crazy period in their life? She was in love with Bobby!!!!! She was not she would have lost him years ago.

What a load of crap from Bobby Brown. I have always liked Whitney and I hope she is doing just fine.

What a bunch of bolonie....Whitney fell in love with the wrong guy and stuck with him for as long as she possibly could. Since she couldn't deal with all the issues, she obviously joined him. You know that old saying, if you can't beat'em ,,join'em. That of course would only last so long before the whole thing crumbled. If you ask me, that marriage has been a big fat mess for YEARS.. I love Whitney.. She's a true talent. Bobby on the other hand? just a big "all over the place" MESS. I'm sure he's doesn't even know what the HECK to do with himself now.

She used him?? for what? all he ever did was spend her money, and get high with her. What a JOKE!! Bobby Brown was and will always be a wanna be STAR. Whitney did have a few rumors out there but keep in mind she was new, fresh, and exciting. All young girls wanted to be Whitney. She married a loser, a broke loser at that, and from what I can see she has had nothing but regrets. She was on top of her game when they married, but like the old saying goes birds of a feather flock together. Let hope she can recover from the so called KING of R&B…

This guy is the biggest piece of shit around. Whitney was at her best when she met this trash and without a doubt got her hooked on drugs. Getting rid of him was the best choice she will ever make. She ought to keep him totally out of her life, he's a user.

Okay let me tell you all ... I am a fan of both Whitney and Bobby since the 80's. Bobby wasn't on drugs back then he had a drinking problem both him and Whitney. There were rumors on her suppose to been marrying Eddie Murphey. Now the rumors on the lesbian situation I don't know but I do know there was somethings going on about her back in the day but I don't remember what. So he might be telling the truth. And we have to take into account that WE only know what the media says. Bobby knows her personally so think about that. And if this is suppose to be a true story on his and her life. Legally he can't publish BS unless he's ready for some lawsuits.
