Report: Kanye West Breaks Off Engagement
It's no secret that Kanye West is pretty intense when it comes to his work -- but maybe he should be as passionate about his woman. Spies say that Kanye is so crazy about everything being perfect on his new tour that he and his fiancée, Alexis Phifer, have broken off their engagement.
A source close to the couple told UsMagazine.com that "Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn't keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out."
The insider said that Kanye and Alexis planned to marry as a tribute to his late mom, Donda West, who urged the couple, who have been dating on and off since 2002, to make it official.
"I’m just going to go and get married,” Kanye had told GQ last year. “I’m not going to make a big deal out of it.”
You can say that again.

She's a big ol' woman, or maybe he's just tiny. I don't like him. He has a loud mouth and terrible opinions. Still can't get over his psychotic outburst after hurricane Katrina.
I'm another one who doen't care for Kanye West or his music. He is loud and arrogant and thinks the world revolves around him (NOT!!!)His fiancee should be glad the engagement is called off because he's a womanizer just like all the rest.
Bella, I couldn't agree with you more. Clearly George Bush does quite a bit to make his commitment to Black people known. Black people in the US are CLEARLY prosperous since Bush took office. Maybe Kanye somehow overlooked the strong opportunities and increasing development within the Black community. Thanks for reiterating how ridiculous it is that Kanye would make disparaging remarks about the President's relationship with Black people.
I am so sick and tired of people making it a BLACK OR WHITE issue.Wake up people. God doesnt look at us as being a certain color. He looks at us as being HIS FOLLOWERS or Satans followers. I dont know about u guys, but I love everyone regardless of what color they are on the outside. So when problems arise, dont go talking about what shade of color they are. As far as Kanye and his girlfriend goes, that is their personal business. U DO U AND HE WILL DO HIM!
I agree with Chelle
why is it any of our business at all? Yeah it fun to read but you should judge anybody off any of this stuff cause you never know whos lying for example I heard kanye all ready married that girl a couple weeks before jay-z got married which is true? And just because the are an artist with a more public forum doesnt mean that he doesnt have a right to say his opinion just like the opinion we are all posting here. And let look at the facts Mya and bella black arent doing better were either poor sick or dying with a percentage of us doing well that rather small and Bush did fail the Black that where in invovled in Katrina there were option that were even looked or ignored If our president was so busy killing innocent muslims your right he could have done more!
I met Kanye and whatever misconceptions I had about him, I don't any longer. He's down to earth, funny and generous. He was on tour and made time to find the perfect gifts for his fiance- and they were pretty fabulous gifts! That's the nature of the business, your busy, you work hard. What exactly does SHE do?
I am a big fan of Kanye.... his music. As far as his marrying someone, like Songz said, it's fun to read but you have to put yourself in someone else's position and remember that this is really not our concern. He's is a musical mastermind and raps very true things. Sure, people think that this is not the case because it's rap, but he is in another league that only has a few (such as Outkast, Goodie Mob, Common, Talib Kweli, and the like).
On another note, the black comment that popped up for no real reason. The fact that most of the people below the poverty line are black and are in communities with poor school systems is reason enough to understand that black have not done better under the presidential terms of G.W. Bush. I could go on, but it's not worth it. I just don't understand how people could overlook such huge issues and say that West was wrong to say that blacks are doing worse than they "really" are.
