Teri Hatcher Cheats Us Out of A Good Idol Performance

While we're on the subject of Idol Gives Back, can we please talk about Teri Hatcher's performance of Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats"? I know what I thought -- that it was kinda weird, very much like karaoke from the corner bar, and that I wished Carrie would have sang it. I'm not even sure if Teri was seriously singing it. Like, does she think she's a really good singer or was she just having fun for charity. If it's the latter, then I give her props, but if she thinks she's a great singer, then there's a problem. I just didn't get it -- at all.

Okay, your turn. What did you think of it?

I was scratching my head through the whole performance....I didn't get it either. I bet Simon was having a field day in that little head of his.

I was embarrassed for her. I hope it was just for fun and not serious. I too would have rather heard Carrie sing it.

It wasn't too bad. Gotta hand it to her for singing in front of MILLIONS. Kudos Teri.

oh no that was just painful there. oh man ouch. really I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

ok so it really wanst that bad, i thought she did pretty good. And it was for a good cause. I think maybe it was a sorta joke though, i mean kinda lets lighten it up a little. Give her a break.

i kinda loved it - mostly because it was the Band from TV, which i think is awesome considering i love television. hugh laurie (house) is usually on keyboards, and bob guiney (bachelor)and bonnie sommerville (cashmere mafia) also do vocals. i think it's a cute idea. plus, it's for charity, so we can't complain. it was fun to watch.

Heard a lot worse. Not bad, if she took it serious she might be real good.

It's definitely a stunt to promote Desperate Housewives with her playing the Susan bit. Nothing more. Nothing less.

funny as hell. i think she did a good job. It is said she is dating friends on a millionaire dating site called meetingwealthy dot com. Her sexy photos and profile are found there.

I'm not a huge fan of Teri Hatcher's but I think she did a great job. She's no Carrie Underwood but good for her for doing her part. Bravo Teri.

It wasn't horrible...just sounded like slightly drunken karaoke.

If she was singing it she didn't do a bad job. She's not a professional singer, she's an actress. I thought she was just lip syncing to Carrie's record but I don't know. It sounded like Carrie to me.

dg said:

How could she do a bad job if it was Carrie's record playing which it sounded like. She is cute after all.

If Carrie Underwood was okay with it, why should anyone else care? Band From TV is a group of actors who enjoy playing music for charity, not professional musicians. Not only do I give Teri major props for performing in front of millions, I also heard she had a fever of 101 that night. So while I don't hink she should quit her day job, I do think she did an admirable job for an admirable cause.

Teri's performance is clearly a goof--check out the bit before her singing starts, with the Desperate Housewives-styled scene. Besides, as some others noted, I think Ms. Hatcher is a good singer for an actress. She helped support a worthwhile cause, at the risk of making a fool of herself. That takes a lot of guts.

lol....You know I sing karaoke alot! And I think that Teri Hatcher didn't do too bad. I have heard alot worse singers doing karaoke in the bar, and I must say she didn't too bad! I mean ppl that try out for American Idol..well, most of them can't even sing...hats off to Teri Hatcher for giving it her all. He he

Peace!

I loved it. She was really good. Her voice was raspy, but she has her own quality. I think hers is different but a good different. The comment of the person who wrote this article couldn't do a better job so he/she just likes to critisize. I say if you don't know how to say something nice don't say anything at all a good cliche' that deserves to be used on this person. Good going Terri!!!

It is so hard for me to comprehend being critical of someone performing at a charity event.????? Dont get it. I thought she was awesome. A true woman of grace and class in my opinion.
