What an awesome interview! There are so many levels to her. I like how she doesn't apologize or regret anything she has ever said or done. We all go through crazy phases in life and are very lucky not to have them ALL recorded forever. People are interested in her life, and she grants them interviews. That's called being gracious. When other people (moviegoers, bloggers, etc.) drive the demand for stories about Angelina, she is not responsible for the publicity she gets. And I still don't get why people insist Angelina Jolie stole anyone's husband when Jennifer and Brad announced their separation in January 2005, well before Brad and Angelina were seen together outside of work in May of 2005.

Thanks for answering that. I am curious about your ideas for solutions or at least damage control for the very real problem of the serious imbalance of the world's resources.

This problem is not new, it has been around since the beginning of time as far as I know. The media is now seemingly responsible for being the "messanger" to the people in the "interesting" times we live in.

Even esteemed leaders like the Dalai Lama are given air time as suits the medias needs ( and sponsors) at the time.

I think we need to be our own reporters and that means doing our own research and reading the books written by the leaders we wish to learn from. Without the filters and sensationalism.

Have you read any books by H.H.? If not I would highly recommend one called "Ethics for a new Mellenia" by His holiness the Dalai Lama.

This book gives such an amazing POV on the state of the world and what we can do about it. One small action after another, and with compassion in our hearts and minds, even for our "enemies". Apparently we should be especially grateful to them for the invaluable teaching they provide us with in this lifetime.

Anger is useless and must either be restrained untill balanced or channeled effectively.

I am not sure H.H. believes in "God" per se, but certainly he believes in Karmic accumulation and the eternal soul.

Also he has a way of writing that is not only genius but endearing and funny. Makes it all look like it might make sense and there really are proactive solutions.

The work lies with each and every one of us. Laying blame is not part of the solution. Our control lies only within and of ourselves and our own actions and intentions.

Forgiveness is part of the solution. Compassion is. Treating others ( all others) as though they are equal to and just as important as ourselves. Kindness is a verb we could all practice more often. The intention to help alleviate suffering and help bring happiness to others, works to bring inner happiness to the giver. The others must be forgiven, even if they have not seen the error of their ways. It is part of the balance needed to have anything resembling peace in this world.

I still think you will have more people try to understand what you are saying and what you stand for JD if you somehow deal with and overcome some of the anger expressed.

The facts ( as you know them) should be able to stand on their own merits, without laying blame or angry name calling.

We are all human beings deserving happiness and desiring to avoid suffering. Every one. There are no disposable souls in the universe. No one can be discarded, kicked out of the human race or willed into disappearance. We are all energy and can only change form. That is is the key. Change is constant and something we can count on. Somehow we need to work with it to have the old ways evolve into a more just world.

We can call it God or by any other name, we can spend our lives trying to prove it's existence.

Or we can go by our most basic intuition and just know that we are not alone.

I am not so sure that this force is purely for good, and nor I am sure that we even have a clue how to serve it, but we do the best we can, and then rest.

Warren Buffett donated 85% of his assets/stock to the B and M Gates Foundation, I believe in 2006 or 07. Please look up where that money goes from the foundation. Warren B lived on $50,000 salary for a long time ( now raised to $100,000 per year )while accumulating his staggering fortune.

This is the largest charitable donation in history.

I am going to read up more on the Gates Foundation, and what is happening with all the big bucks we have all given Bill over the years and how much goes to the foundation from microsoft.

I just wanted to tell you that I was recently reading up on Warren Buffett.

As he was amassing his staggering fortune, he lived solely on an annual salary of $50,000. This recently has been raised to $100,000.

In 2006 or 07, he made the largest donation to charity in history.

He gave 85% of his wealth ( mostly stocks and shares ) to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as he said he felt that foundation was better able to put the funds to good use now, than for him to leave the bulk of his fortune to his own foundation when he passes on.

He did secure a foundation for his daughter, and that might come under criticism.

But consider the amount 85% ! It is apparently now worth 30.7 BILLION USD.

Before I even form an opinion on if the Gates Foundation is worthy of such a gift, will seriously need to research it.

Warren Buffett gave an analogy on his holding the "chits" of resources...said he would never spend them, but wanted to ensure they are used for worthy endeavors such as Aids research among other things.
