I wonder how many of these celebs will donate money. Most probably think that just because they're participating in the telethon, that should be enough.

I'm just glad they are doing it.

After 20 years of donating money to various causes I'm done. $50 MILLION here 50 MILLION there and they never find cures. Bullshit, they use our money to research and if they have a cure you'll never see it, their cash cow would go away. They make trillions of dollars a year on the pharmaceutical side, You really think their going to announce a cure, not in our life time. I will still support any cause for women and children abuse and that's it. Screw these rich hospitals and the pharmaceutical companies. IT'S ALL a huge scam designed to separate you from your money so the fat cat's can travel around first class and enjoy the good life at the expense of afflicted people. When the hospitals do use your money in helping the afflicted they save their money to increase their bottom line. Maybe we should donate are money to landing on mars, that's a good cause, people their will appreciate it.

Viewers will be urged to text ‘STAND’ to 40202 to donate $5. You can donate at any time before the telecast. All cell phone carrier fees have been written off.

I find it very ironic that Jennifer Aniston is participating in this CANCER AWARENESS campaign to raise funds when she's the same person who tans in the sun and smokes obsessively. Both of these things cause cancer. Is she going to announce that she's turning over a new leaf? Whats the use in raising money towards 'research' for a cure, when numnuts like Jen demonstrate risky behaviors that defeats the purpose of any headway that is made in these endeavors! I'd be more inclined towards listening to some of these psudo-celebrities if they weren't such hypocrits.

Preach dr, Preach! CANCER IS BIG BUSINESS PEOPLE. If they did find a cure, it would never be acknowledged. TOO MUCH MOO-LAH changing hands. Sad, sad world we live in. BUT THEY CAN DAMN SURE CURE ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION AND BALDNESS. You know, the important stuff.

This show was just a front to grab some quick cash for Obama... I was so disgusted! Not one piece of information on the show was "new". The so-called new treatments they spotlighted have been in existence for years. And what was the message here? "Send us your money because the American Cancer Society isn't using theirs for research"? Don't you think they should have explained that a little more? That's pretty damned important to the American people. I want to know why cancer has become epidemic over the past few years. Where it's coming from and where in the hell our billions of dollars have gone that should have been earmarked for a cure.

There was nothing new, a lot emotional pushing for quick donations with little information about what they will really do with it. A lot of same ole same ole..katie couric, get checked, eat broccolli, don't smoke..don't ever start smoking..(I'm sure that those with non-smoking related cancers like breast, prostate, skin, liver, leukemias, hodgkins, sarcomas, etc.....really needed to hear that) DUH! All thing political!.. Don't eat red meat? Oh please!

Then the big question to the presidential candidates.. McCain is given a brief moment to answer what he'll do for cancer research as presdident - then a looong applause for Obama and a long presentation on some universal health care agenda..that has very little to do with cancer..but he got his plug in... And I think this was true purpose of the show.

I'm thinking this was just the Dems sick idea to make some quick cash before the election under the guise of "new and improved" cancer research... And I am disgusted!

I hope someone audits the donations received in this sham.
