Golden Girl Estelle Getty Dies
The ultimate Golden Girl, Estelle Getty, has gone to the Pearly Gates in the sky.
"As of 5:35 this morning, surrounded by her family in her Hollywood Hills home, Estelle Getty passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes" her longtime manager, Alan Siegel, told People.com on Tuesday. "Her family and close friends thank everyone for being so loving and supportive of Estelle in her last few years."
The actress had been suffering from Lewy's Body Dementia. She was 84.
Estelle played the tell-it-like-it-is Sophia on the wildly popular 1980s sitcom, also starring Bea Arthur, Betty White and Rue McClanahan. The seasoned comedienne earned seven Emmy nominations for the role, and won the honor in 1998.
She will be missed.

Estelle Getty will truly be missed. Golden Girls is one of my all time favorite shows.
She was truly a wonderful talent and an amazingly funny woman....
I will truly miss "MA", Estelle Getty! She was just like my mom who passed away 2 years ago. I still watch the reruns and just love her so much and I am so sad, but am glad to know that she went in her sleep. My mom always told me that this is the best way to go , if you are going. Will miss her more than words could ever say, LOVE YOU ESTELLE

She will truly be missed, she seemed to be a mother figure to everyone on her show and the tv audience. My prayers go to her family.
What a wondeful woman she was! Three generations in my family watched and loved her portrayal of "Ma" on Golden Girls. May she forever be in our memories.
Hi, I have a website called Chica Inc. The website has all original and unique content. It just launched this summer and would want to know more information on how to go about to advertise with your website. Is it possible for a link exchange, and if not what other options are available. I know if Chica Inc is given the chance to be heard it has a lot of great potential ahead. Thank you.
