Natalie Cole Diagnosed With Hepatitis C

nataliecole1.jpgSinger Natalie Cole's past drug use seems to be catching up with her.

The singer's rep has confirmed to People.com that Natalie have been diagnosed with Hepatitis C -- which is likely the result of her hard partying ways years ago, but doctors are optimistic that Nat will beat it.

"Natalie has had a terrific response to her medication and is now virus negative," Dr. Graham Woolf, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at U.C.L.A./Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, said in a statement. "This gives her an increased chance of cure." Sadly, the doc goes on to say that Nat is suffering from side effects from the anti-viral medicine, including fatigue, muscle aches and dehydration, but, "she is recovering from these."

Despite her health issues, Natalie is still expected to release her new album, Still Unforgettable, on Sept. 9.

Let's send her good thoughts.

Sorry, no good thoughts for her. She thinks she's better than others because she isn't "bad" anymore but lookie who was so horrible to her body that she's still suffering the effects of it. Don't feel sorry for her at all.

And when is she going to stop riding on the coattails of her famous (and immeasurably more talented) father? She is still referring to "Unforgettable" and it's been how many years since she did that tacky duet with her dad??

People in the entertainment field get mixed up with a lot of bad. I think she has learned from her mistakes and she has indicated she did bad things to her body in her younger days.

I also don't think we should think bad of people, especially when they fess up to their demons. For those who critize her, tread lightly. I believe in what goes around comes around, have seen many cases of it and was glad to see some of it happen in my life time. The people who said someone else deserved something got it back worse.

I.E. A supervisor I knew had no compassion for another supervisor who came to work drunk - she had just found out she had cancer; didn't bother to take her aside to find out what was going on, because she didn't like her. Instead she called management and she was dismissed. A week later in surgery they had to close her up, cause the cancer was so bad. The other supvr committed suicide a few years later for something that happened to her.

I.E. A lady who worked in my department who always lied about what our immediate supervisor supposedly said - NOT. That same employee got fired for mistreating customers on the phone.

I.E. A friend of mine left her daughter in the car with the car running. Little girl gets in the front seat, hits the gear shift and the car rolled into another friends car. Big damage; they never paid for it. A year later, the father was in a terrible car accident, with a lifetime back injury - constant pain.

I think all of these could have been avoided for the folk who didn't act responsibly. If they had taken the correct action(s), things may have been different for them later in life.

So for those who say, "I don't feel sorry" or "she deserves it", be careful because I truly believe one day, you will be the one saying, "WHY is this happening (to me, my family, us etc)?"
