Tom & Katie Send Gifts To Nicole Kidman

tomkatiehomebash.jpg
Doing what good exes in the public eye should always do, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes sent tons of gifts along to new mom Nicole Kidman and baby girl Sunday Rose.

According to People.com, TomKat sent Nic a huge basket full of fancy baby loot, from them and Tom and Nicole's two children together, Connor and Isabella. In said basket was reportedly lots of really expensive stuff that you and I would never find at Babies R Us, like chenille Giraffe baby blankets and items from the Hermes baby line.

What? No cupcakes, Katie? You are really slipping...

My money is on the fact that this was probably Katie's idea to send the gifts.

I'm sure it was both. They are amicable, they just don't walk on the red carpet together a la Demi, Ashton and Bruce.

It's interesting that details of the gift are made public. In other words, Tom's press agent probably released details. Is it just me, or does anyone else find it in bad taste to give a gift and then make a public announcement about it? It's different if the recipient talks about it, but I'm almost positive the news is coming from TomKat. Same thing happened at the time of the wedding (Nicole-Keith nuptuals). I suppose the point is to show that Tom Cruise is a great guy.

It's not the matter of gift, but their relationship. And celebrity relationship seems a little confusing. Just as rumore says, many celebrities are found hooking up with super wealthy singles on *****MillionaireL oveL inks.com***** . Who knows what they really want?

So now all the attention is on TinyTom instead of Nicole's new baby. WHY does he have to announce whenever he sends someone a gift? Didn't he announce he sent Brooke Shields flowers too? (Which she denied after the PR announcement). I smell desperation.

Me thinks the person who wrote that People article doesn't have children. It's not a chenile Giraffe baby blanket. That sounds nasty. It's a chenile Little Giraffe baby blanket. I've seen Suri carrying one around too. My son also has one. They're super soft and plush.

But, as a new mom, you get so much "stuff" (including a crapload of blankets) somehow I think the cupcakes may have been a more welomce gift!

Tom should have stayed with Nicole. She is more mature and way better looking!!

I think it's great they can have such a good, adult relationship. After all, they will have to remain in one another's lives for a very long time.

Diane, I strongly agree with that. That's one of my biggest problems with celebs..how public they make certain things in their lives (donations, gifts, good deeds, ect.) when they can clearly hide the things they want private. I was taught that when you give a gift or do a good deed out of the kindness of your heart, you should keep it personal.

Thanks, Bella, for your comment above. There's always a chance the store made the information public--and not TomCat--but somehow I don't think so..not without permission, at any rate. Either this came from Tom's publicity "machine" or from the vendor (WITH the permission of the Cruises). Other way, it leaves a bad taste.

I think it's bizarre that the siblings were not there for (or shortly thereafter) the birth. Their 1/2 sister (technically speaking by way of the marriages, I know Bella & Connor are adopted...) was born, and the family sends a *gift*? I understand why Tom isn't there, but why not the siblings? I find it very odd, and sad. I also find it shocking that not one person in any articles I have read about the gifts sent by Tom & Katie (and it received significant coverage) has mentioned this.
