Ok, so the song is actually good. I admit that with a lot of reluctance. I didn't think I'd like it because even though he has a good voice, he really annoys me. I still prefer the other David, and I'm anxiously awaiting the debut of his first single.

I am 40 years old and never listened to Z100. But I love David Archuleta's voice and him not only as a young artist but as a human being. I got up early this morning to log on to Z100 and listen to his debut single.

All I can say, it brought tears to my eyes. I LOVED IT> He was concerned about his older fans liking it. I can assure him they DO. I agreed with the caller from Colorado, he is incredible and AWESOME.

My biggest fear for him, is that too many people will rush to download for FREE and he will not get credit for downloads through ITunes. Congratulations David. You are such an inspiration to all of us.

David sounded concerned that his song would appeal to non-teens. He's too young to know this, but people develop crushes through their entire lives. They never stop - even if you're happily married. CRUSH is a fantastic start to a long and successful music career for this inspirational young man.

As for the song, I thought that it was what it was, a clever catchy pop tune that will surely get lots of airplay -- exactly what David needs to establish himself in the industry and break free from that Idol stigma. I can only hope that his album will be just as good and feature songs that show his versatility musically. I'll certainly buy it to find out, just like I'll buy David Cook's album.

Nancy, TOML is NOT Cook's first real single. It is his Idol-mandated coronation single. His first single will probably drop in September or October, before his November album release.

I am a HUGE Archie fan, and I have been since I heard him sing Imagine...boy, it seems like a lifetime ago. I was devastated when DC won, because I was (and remain) convinced that Archie was the better singer and the most amazing artist AI has ever showcased.

However, the minute I began watching the Davids' interactions on interviews afterward, I grew to genuinely appreciate DC for the classy guy he is. I will support him, not because of his singing, but because of his graciousness toward Archie day after day...including today.

However, it didn't stop there. I've spent a good deal of time on mjsbigblog today - where most people seem to prefer DC - and have gotten teary-eyed often as I read DC's fans' comments, praising and supporting Archie, wishing him the best, and sometimes even announcing their intent to buy his songs. Honestly, you can barely tell the difference between the Davids' fans there anymore. Both Davids have proven themselves (in many cases) to the other David's fans. And I, for one, love it!

Amazing! Awesome! Brilliant! Priceless! Record breaking! Heart breaking! MOLTEN HOT!!! And, a Grammy winner!

CRUSH is the first of many chart topping hits for years to come I am sure. CONGRATULATIONS DAVID, you did your fans proud!

David far exceeded my expectations on his first single. Crush was the perfect song to show David's amazing talent. This is just the beginning of a long and successful career for someone who is so deserving. Congratulations David, Team Archuleta and Jive Records.

The song is very catchy and it will be on charts soon. Personally, I think David can sing more than this level of songs. But for the first single, he needs to establish his name in the music business, and this song will do it. Down the road, he can showcase his piano skills and big vocals with some other songs on his new album. He is a rare-find-gem at such a young age.

Wow! David never stops to amaze me. He really is very versatile. Wow! Wow! Wow! He doesn't only do ballads but also R&B and now this--a truly POP and catchy song that is so amazingly good. He is the best American Idol ever!

I dont' think the people who aren't all that crazy about him HATE him....I think that is very harsh, but I do agree with several postings, he is very annoying...always looked like a deer caught in headlights when anyone talks to him or interviews him...but I don't think anyone can deny the kids got talent...thats the key work...he is A KID...he needs to
learn how to deal with a normal conversation...and if he stays in the business long enough, and grows up some, hopefully he will. I think his Father probably did him a diservice in that he sheltered him, and a kid never learns with an overprotective parent. He has to let him fly a bit on his own.
