John Mayer Calls For Paparazzi Regulation
John Mayer took a stand about against the craziness of the paparazzi yesterday, when he spoke at a hearing on the issue at L.A. City Hall Thursday.
"I don't sit before you today to ask that you ban the paparazzi," John said to the panel. "I'm asking you to regulate it. Officialize it. Tax it. Legitimize it.
"I don't want to beg the city of Los Angeles to give me 1987 back," he said. "I love being a famous musician in 2008... This is about safety."
Some of John's suggestions for making things with the shutterbugs a little more civil? Photographers should be required to have legit credentials, they should have to drive marked cars, and there needs to be a "law governing an acceptable filming distance from an unwilling subject [to keep] everybody safe and misbehavior accountable."
"Regulating the paparazzi won't bring an end to modern-day media coverage," he proposed, "Just as the newly enforced hands-free law hasn't stopped people from talking on cell phones while they drive.
Maybe John should just stop dating other huge celebrities?
I'm totally kidding.
I like this side of John Mayer -- smart is sexy, people.

Doesn't he know that they are waiting for another vehicle accident like Princess Di's to happen to one of our "royals"?
A technique worth trying would be to saturate the paps with pictures. The celeb should step out of the car, then stand there and hold court for two hours, letting the paps take hundreds of pictures. Do this several times, and there would be so many of your pictures in circulation that they would have no value. The paps would stop taking your picture, because they wouldn't be able to make any money selling them. Trying to avoid the paps only decreases the number of pictures in circulation, increasing their value and causing the paps to chase you more. Implement a supply & demand strategy to get rid of the paps. You would be able to walk freely on Sunset Boulevard if pictures of you had no value because there were so many of them on the market.
John Mayer complaining about paparazzi is like Michael Jackson complaining about plastic surgery. …….?!…wtf…?
they have gotten to out of hand and yeah the need to make a distance law for how far they can get,but theres so much money in it so they really will still take the risk's, what i hate to see is the pics of them looking like they have climbed a tree to get pics in someones yard or close in their windows now that stalking as far as i see it!
Do some people ask for it? Most can well live better without paparazzi. I prefer the anonymity, and it would be a horror for me if a crowd of paparazzi would wait for me as I step out in the morning to go jogging. The media can be so unfair, they invent stories and make life really unpleasant for you.
But I see the other side of it, I am an expert on the field of unexplained phenomena and religion. There is a burden in this world that everyone has to bear. And for some this burden means a hard life at the workplace, for others it means numerous small troubles or partnership conflicts. The answer to this problem is not to ask for more laws, but instead for more love of one another. I am confident that we can build a better society where people learn to live in fairness and morality without needing many detailed laws, which means they naturally respect the private sphere.
But as we watch most of the recent Hollywood films, we find that entertainment ware as it is made today is not a way towards a better society, but often an obstacle.
Or what do you think? Think about the recent films you have seen, think of the film-ads you see on billboards, and then ask yourself if such material transports the message we need for the education of our younger ones. My answer to this question is moreless a "No" as I have pointed out in my document 'Hollywood Mythology', available for free download at my website.
no one will follow you if you aren't dating jennifer aniston.

I totally agree that paparazzi became interested about him when he began dating Jennifer Aniston. Now i do not want u to think i`m on paparazzi`s side cause honestly i cannot stand them at all. But he sound like he cannot breathe any more because of them, when we all know that very few people ever heard about him.
