Full Recovery Expected for Travis Barker & DJ AM
If there could be some positive news coming out of this terrible tragedy, here it is.
Dr. Fred Mullins of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors' Hospital in Augusta said at a press conference that Travis Barker and DJ AM are being treated for second- and third-degree burns, after surviving a deadly jet crash on Friday night, but are expected to make a full recovery.
"Since both Barker and Goldstein are in overall good health and didn't suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected," the doc told the media Sunday morning.
He revealed that Travis was burned mostly on his torso and lower body, while DJ AM was burned on his arms and a portion of his head. The doctor described both as remaining in critical but stable condition and in the intensive-care unit of the hospital.
Travis' ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, reportedly rushed to the drummer's side upon hearing the news and was seen at the hospital on Saturday.
Dr. Mullins also asked that the public given Travis, Adam, their families, and the loves ones of those lost in the crash some time to digest all of this.
"The families wish to thank fans from all over the world for their prayers and concern. Deepest sympathy is expressed to the loved ones of those who perished in the crash. As the two recuperate and mourn this loss, privacy for them their families and friends is requested at this time."
Keep them in your thoughts.
