Candace Bushnell, the author of the Sex and the City, is writing a new set of books, starring the one and only Carrie Bradshaw. Except, this time, Carrie is in high school!

The books are being called The Carrie Diaries, and will give us a good look into how our girl became the woman we've grown to know and love (and question her fashion choices). We'll get a glimpse into her high school friendships, her boyfriends, and her love of writing.

"I've always been interested in exploring Carrie's teenage years," Candace said in a statement. "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd - she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene."

The first book is slated to come out in 2010. A movie version can't be far behind. Who do you think should play a teenaged Carrie?
