Inside Madonna & Guy's Divorce: "They Lost Their Connection"
Sources are coming out of the woodwork to dish on Madonna and Guy Ritchie's split, revealing that this marriage was over waaaay before they decided to announce it.
"It was unraveling throughout the last year," an insider told People.com. "They were living separate lives and coming together every now and then for the cameras."
And it seems that it wasn't just one issue that caused the couple, who were married for seven years, to fall apart at the seams. Yes, it was Madge's "close friendship" with Yankee Alex Rodriguez, but Guy's lack of belief in Madonna's Kabbalah faith and the couple's differing views on fame and adoption also played major roles.
"It wasn't just one thing," the source said. "They just lost their connection."
A-Rod "was a factor in a long list of problems that they had been having over the past year or two," said Madonna's friend. "But it wasn't the reason. If she wanted to move past that she would have, and Guy would have too."
Guy also wasn't into being in the spotlight like his wife was. "She would try to get him to come to things, and he resisted," says the source. "She was more about being a celebrity and he was more low key. He wanted to live in London and live a normal life but that's impossible when you're married to Madonna."
Also, insiders say the director really wasn't too keen on officially adopting David Banda.
"From what I understand Guy really didn't want to adopt David," says the source. "He felt like they should focus on their marriage because they were having problems then, too. But Madonna insisted. And what Madonna wants, Madonna gets."
It definitely sounds like ending the marriage was the right decision, after hearing all of this stuff, and it seems that both parties are ready to move one.
"They've both cried and dried their eyes. They're over it. They've had time to come to grips."

She has said that she'll "never get fat" or "let herself go" but what about pushing your irrational fears of getting old and fat aside and making love to your husband? Act like a cold fish, you'll get treated like one. She totally immasculated him.

Why do people have to get nasty & think they know what went on in their marriage, or anyone else's for that matter. I'm 71 years & have learned over the years that couples just plain grow apart due to different belief systems & one partner always grows faster than the other. It is not for us to judge. I believe they have both proven that the children were their first concern, & there's nothing worse than a child being brought up in a home where the parents have grown apart.
