Former View Host Blindsided By Hubby's Divorce Filing
E!'s Debbie Matenopoulos says she totally didn't see a divorce coming from her husband Jay Faires -- and that she learned about the filing from internet reports.
Ouch.
"I am extremely saddened by the dissolution of my seven-year relationship with my husband," the former View host told People.com.
Jay, a music exec, filed the court papers in Los Angeles on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences, and is asking that Deb not get any spousal support.
"I am not a proponent of divorce and I believe in working things out," the TV host said. "So you can only imagine my extreme sadness and disillusionment when I was informed of my husband's divorce proceedings, much like you were, by reading them online."
Wow -- that totally sucks, but there has to be more to the story than that. Think somebody was cheating?

If she acts and talks at home like she does on The Daily 10 then I don't blame him! Okay seriously, she at least deserved to know in person. Or maybe he kept saying it and she wouldn't take him seriously?
Well, it was a great wedding at any rate. (I remember the story and photos in one of those bridal mags a few years back.) Other than that, all I know is she was fired from "The View". A D-List celebrity (if that).
Im sure they are both decent people. I have watched them over the years on TV. Their Wedding in Italy / The Condo redesign . I just thought she came off domineering and condescending in an 80s "men are stupid" behavior.
An indoctrination forced on women

Men are people to , and need to be respected and treated like gold just like we want to be treated. Eighteen
months after my divorce I called my x husband and asked him why he broke up a very good marrige and he said because I did not need him. She needed him.
No excuse for cheating but I am a nicer, sweeter women now that I don,t feel that I have to prove anything. I missed all those years - being as one boyfriend called me in the 80s a guygirl. Now I am just a feminine women at last!
Debbie Matenopolous is far and away the most annoying and irritating person on television. She is so desperate to look cool and funny and succeeds in making herself look like trailer park trash. I refuse to watch anything on E! as long as she is employed there (that goes for Kat and Sal too) but I can't begin to imagine her humiliation at finding out about something so personal on the internet. No one really deserves that. I'm sure there is more to both sides of the story and, in true Hollywood fashion, we will be subjected to every last detail.
In real life, she's a sweetheart and he's an arrogant, self entitled, condecending cheating jerk. Not even the class to tell his WIFE, IN PERSON, that their marriage is over. What a coward. Any real man would have had the courage. No one who knows these two thought it would end up any other way. He's so predictable.
It sounds very unusually he would just divorce her without talking about it or seeking any marital help. It seems she wasn’t that heartbroken by it though, so maybe she did secretly cheat on him, I don’t trust TV personalities :P
