Report: Madonna Reaches Divorce Settlement
It's almost over and done with.
According to new documents, Madonna and Guy Ritchie will be granted a preliminary divorce decree at the High Court in London on Friday, the BBC is reporting. After six weeks and a day, their marriage of 8 years will officially be over and the divorce would be made final.
According to the British press, Madge and Guy reached a settlement -- and the Material Girl is said to be keeping most of her materials (worth an estimated $500 million). As for the kids, Rocco and David will split time between the U.S. and London, while Lourdes, whose father is Carlos Leon, will live with her mother.
"[Madonna] walked away without any of his money, much to her credit," a friend told the U.K.'s Times. "He has done the same."
"He could have hugely boosted his bank balance and set himself up for life, but he already feels he has enough money," another pal told the paper of the director. "He also didn't want the whole thing dragging on in the public gaze for months and months and, in any case, his priority was the children's future."
But a source close to the couple insists that's not true. "He's going to get a huge windfall, contrary to what's being reported," the insider told People.com. "He's getting a lot of money from the settlement. He's not the gentleman he's portraying himself as."

I think he should get half of what she made in the eight years they were married (after taking out her half of what he made). Plus just being married to her for eight years to qualify him for some sort of compensation - hazard pay of some sort!
Yeah, she should have to pay him money for his mental anguish! LOL
He has plenty of money in his own right. Why does he deserve any of hers? Same thing if the roles were reversed and he was the one making more. Even though he doesn't make AS much as her, he is worth millions of dollars. How much does one person need? I know she's hard to live with, but he was no walk in the park either. In any case, it's sad because I think they were a good match for each other. He was good for her because he has a strong personality like she does. Now she's on to He of Little Substance...A-Rod.
I'm not sure if Madonna's husband ever bonded with David, the adopted boy. I feel sorry for him, although at least he'll always have money--which is more than most of us have. I'd be willing to put up with Madonna's controlling ways if there was some reward! By the way, I saw Carlos Leon on "Law and Order" last week--he's not a bad actor.
I don't think that she should have to give him money, just because she made more money. I think they should split whatever they owned together, but not the money. He wouldn't want her taking his money if he was the bread winner, now would he!!
