A private memorial service will be held for DJ AM this Thursday night at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

"A gathering to celebrate the life of our friend Adam Goldstein," says the invite. And as a way to address the deejay's long battle with addiction, "The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting," continues the invite. "Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there."

Is that even going to be possible? No doubt that the paps will be swarming the venue.
