Are surrogates the new celebrity trend? Sarah Jessica Parker, Dance Your Ass Off host Marissa Janet Winokur -- and now soap star Michelle Stafford is expecting via surrogate.
"After a three-year journey through hell, I'm elated, ecstatic and feel ultimately lucky to be able to announce I'm expecting my own child via surrogate in December," the Young and the Restless actress told People.com in a statement.
Michelle, 43, is single, and has tried a variety of different options to have a baby. After attempting artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, and looking into adoption, the actress went the surrogate route. "I never wavered in my desire to be a mother," she says. "But I did waiver on aspects of the process. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."
A baby girl is on the way for Michelle -- and she's still looking for a guy to make her family complete.
"This entire process has been very, very difficult to do on my own," she says, "and has made me realize the importance and reason for a partner."
"Dating men and telling them I'm expecting in December is a little different," she adds. "I know I just need to find someone who wants the same things as I do."
What do you think of Michelle's decision to take mommy matter into her own hands? Should a woman who wants a baby have to wait for Mr. Right to come along?

Kourtney Kardashian took her pregnant belly to the beach this Labor Day weekend and spent some time frolicking in the water with boyfriend, Scott Disick.
"Beautiful day at the beach in Miami," she Twittered on Sunday.
All that sun and sand must have got Kourtney's cravings going because she followed up the beach Tweet with details on what she was having for dinner. Check this out:
"Just ordered a waffle with butter and syrup for dinner! With onion rings and thousand island dressing! Does anyone think I'm pregnant?"
Wow. That's some combo. If that's not going to bring on a killer bout of morning sickness, we don't know what will.
What were some of your craziest pregnancy cravings?
Lisa Loeb is about to join the mommy club!
The singer and husband, Roey Hershkovitz, are having a baby, People.com reports.
"They're excited to welcome their first child this winter," Lisa's manager said.
Lisa and Roey got on the kid train fast, as they were just married this past January in Manhattan. The happy couple met at a business meeting in 2006.
Congrats!
Mark Wahlberg just keeps on adding to his entourage.
According to a recent photo snapped of his new wife, Rhea Durham, the Mrs. is sportin' a baby bump!
No official announcement has been made, but it looks like it will be baby No. 4 for Mark and Rhea, who finally tied the knot last month. The new little one will join Ella Rae, almost 6, Michael, 3, and Brendan Joseph, 11 months.
Congrats to the big, happy brood!
Prep yourself for the arrival of another devastatingly gorgeous child star, as Halle Berry and boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, are reportedly expecting again, according to JustJared.com.
"Halle is overjoyed," an insider close to the actress, who is rumored to be three months along, told Life & Style. "The first time, she struggled so much to get pregnant and eventually conceived through in vitro fertilization. This time, the baby was conceived through artificial insemination."
"She's just ecstatic to be pregnant again," the source adds. "She wasn't sure if she'd have another baby, so she's very happy!"
The new baby will join gorgeous older sister, Nahla, who is 17 months.
Congrats!
I totally had no idea you could breastfeed with implants!
Kourtney Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson's are both preparing for the birth of their first children this December, and the E! stars tell Us Weekly that, despite having gotten breast implants -- they plan to nurse their babies.
"I was so scared that I wasn't going to be able to nurse that when I saw stuff come out of my nipples the other day, I was like, I can breast-feed?" Kendra told the mag. "And I asked my doctor, who said, 'That's fine, but it's not milk yet!'"
Also on the au naturel bandwagon is Kourt, who chimed in, "They say usually you can [breast-feed with implants]. I want to."
Not to get too personal, but have any of you out there nursed with implants? Would you? Is it something to consider before getting a boob job? Do tell.
Kourtney Kardashian is opening up about the tough decision she had to make when she found out that she was pregnant with her on-again boyfriend, Scott Disick's, baby.
"I definitely thought about it long and hard, about if I wanted to keep the baby or not, and I wasn't thinking about adoption," she told People.com. "I do think every woman should have the right to do what they want, but I don't think it's talked through enough. I can't even tell you how many people just say, 'Oh, get an abortion.' Like it's not a big deal."
Kourt says that, though she and Scott have had a rocky two years together, he was totally supportive of her having their child.
"He wanted me to talk about it more, but I just kept to myself," the reality star revealed. "He said, 'I really want you to keep it, but I will support you whatever you decide to do.'"
But the decision didn't come easy for Kourtney, to say the least.
"I called my best friend crying, and I was like, 'I don't know what to do.' She said, 'Call your doctor, and at least find out the risks and stuff'" -- which she did, before taking to the internet to read about other women's experiences in this tough situation.
"I looked online, and I was sitting on the bed hysterically crying, reading these stories of people who felt so guilty from having an abortion," she recalls. "I was reading these things of how many people are traumatized by it afterwards."
After, Kourtney realized abortion wasn't the right thing for her.
"I was just sitting there crying, thinking, 'I can't do that,'" she says. "And I felt in my body, this is meant to be. God does things for a reason, and I just felt like it was the right thing that was happening in my life."
For me, all the reasons why I wouldn't keep the baby were so selfish: It wasn't like I was raped, it's not like I'm 16. I'm 30 years old, I make my own money, I support myself, I can afford to have a baby. And I am with someone who I love, and have been with for a long time."
So, a little Kardashian is on its way -- and Kourtney can feel confident that she really exhausted all her options before deciding to keep her baby.
"I really wanted to think it through for myself, and not hear what my sisters were saying, or what Scott was saying. Even though I took it all in, I wanted it to be my decision," she says. "My doctor told me there is nothing you will ever regret about having the baby, but he was like, 'You may regret not having the baby.' And I was like: That is so true. And it just hit me. I got so excited, and when I told Scott he was so excited. But I think if I had said I'm not going to keep it, I really think he would have pushed me into keeping it."
You know, I think it's great that Kourtney is being so open about everything, but sometimes thing should be kept private. It makes me wonder -- and this would be very sad -- if she's using the pregnancy to drum up publicity for her new E! reality show.
Modern medicine is amazing -- and the reason Celine Dion is so happy these days.
The singer's doctor, Dr. Zev Rosenwaks, tells People.com that the 41-year-old songstress is pregnant due to in vitro fertilization of an embryo that was frozen eight years ago!
Celine had her embryos frozen back in 2001, when she was trying to conceive her first child. René-Charles was born later that year, and when Celine finished her Las Vegas run in 2007, she was ready for baby No. 2.
"She came back to have the embryos transferred back because she wanted to have another baby," the doc said.
Should Celine be concerned that it's been so long?
According to the fertility specialist, no.
"There have been embryos that have been [frozen] for more than 10 years, and even more than 15 years, that have successfully thawed and resulted in a pregnancy," the doc said.
Which is wonderful news for Celine and her family, who are just giddy over the pregnancy.
"You could hear her chuckling," the doc said, when he told Celine her results were positive. "She was very happy. So was René. They are both very thankful."
Amazing -- and awesome.
Adding to the giant family she comes from, Celine Dion, one of 14 children, is pregnant with her second baby!
A rep for the singer confirmed that the singer and her hubby are expecting.
"Celine and René are very happy," the mouthpiece said. "They are crazy in love over the news ... they are overjoyed."
According to Tuesday's Journal de Montreal, Celine, 41, and hubby, René Angélil, 67, just found out Monday that they conceived using fertility treatments.
The couple has one son together, René-Charles, who was born in 2001 and Papa Rene has three children from a previous marriages.
Congrats to the fam!

Kendra Wilkinson isn't one for keeping secrets.
The former Girl Next Door was super-quick to announce that she and hubby Hank Bassett were expecting their first child, and now Kendra's is telling the world what the little boy's name is going to be.
"Hank and i have soooo much to do to prepare for our baby's arrival, but one thing we can already cross off our list is coming up with a name," the reality star wrote on her blog. "We've already decided to name our son Hank Baskett IV!!!"
The couple found out last week they were having a boy -- another thing Kendra was fast to let the blogosphere know.
The baby is due on Christmas Day, but, if anything changes, I'm sure we'll all be the first million people to know.
A tiny future football player is on the way!
Kendra Wilkinson, who married NFL star Hank Baskett this summer, made a very special announcement on her blog yesterday.
"I just left the doctor's office and I couldn't wait another minute to tell you guys..." she wrote. "Hank and I are having a baby boy, ahhhh!!!!!! When the doctor told me I was just like OH MY GOD, I'm going to have a son!!!!! Today is certainly always going to be one of the most memorable days of my life!"
The reality TV star and her hubby are expecting their son's arrival on Christmas day. How festive!
I'm so excited for them!

Did anyone see this one coming? Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant! The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star revealed to Ryan Seacrest that she is indeed with child. Watch her spill the beans to E! News:
The interesting thing is that Kourtney isn't saying anything about the identity of the father. Is it her on-again-off-again boyfriend Scott Disick? Is it some random dude she met while filming her new show Kourtney and Khloe take Miami? Is it all a publicity stunt for her show which premieres this Sunday at 10pm on E!?
Looks like we'll have to tune in to find out...
Update: On the Today show this morning, Kourtney spilled that her baby daddy was none other than her on-again man, Scott Disick.
Not even Gisele Bunchen can have that nice of a flat belly while pregnant.
In her new ads for London Fog, Gisele's baby belly is non-existent, but it's not mean Mother Nature that created that miracle. Nope, it's the work of a master retoucher that has made Tom Brady's baby disappear.
Dari Marder, London Fog's chief marketing officer said, "Although Gisele was photographed while pregnant, most of the shots have been retouched to respect her privacy during this wonderful and personal time in her life."
In June, the supermodel and her new hubby announced that were expecting their first child together early next year.
Boooo -- show us the bulge! That's what we want!
Ugh!
It's possible that Heidi and Spencer Pratt have already begun to procreate.
The reality TV media whores where photographed shopping for baby clothes at LA's Kitson store yesterday, while Spencer rubbed (gag!) Heidi's belly.
So possibly a publicity stunt, considering who we are talking about, but I cringe at even the thought.
The identity of the woman carrying Jude Law's fourth child has been revealed.
Model Samantha Burke is the lucky lady with a belly full of Jude's spawn.
"Ms. Burke can confirm that she did in fact have a relationship with Mr. Law and that she has informed Mr. Law that she is expecting his child later this fall," a lawyer for the baby mama told TMZ.com. "Since informing Mr. Law of the pregnancy, he has been nothing but responsive and supportive of Ms. Burke and the pregnancy."
Oh, and she's registered at Babies R Us!
According to the site, you can buy things for the little girl who is due in October.
FYI -- her name is going to be Sophia.
Jude Law just keeps spreading his seed.
The actor is expecting his fourth child -- with an "unidentified" woman.
"Jude Law can confirm that, following a relationship last year, he has been advised that he is to be the father of a child due in the fall of this year," the actor's rep says in a statement. "Mr. Law is no longer in a relationship with the individual concerned but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child's life. This is an entirely private matter and no other statements will be made."
Baby No.4 will join Jude's three other children with ex-wife, Sadie Frost.
I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking this kid's mom has to be a nanny.
Happy news for Joey McIntyre and his wife Barrett -- they are expecting a baby!
New kid No. 2 is a boy, and will be joining older brother Griffin, who's 20 months, in December.
"I still can't get over it," Joey told People.com. "We feel so blessed."
The new baby is already full of surprises.
"My wife actually took the [pregnancy] test but she thought it was negative," Joey revealed. "She came out and gave me this look like, 'No.' Then she showed me the test and I said 'It's positive! What the hell?'"
The parents were also pretty sure they were having until a girl -- they were wrong there also.
"We were shocked," the New Kid said when they found out Griffin was going to have a brother -- but it's all good. "It's going to be a trip to have a couple of boys around."
So, will this be it for the man who has eight brothers and sisters?
"I think we have a deal to keep going until we have a girl," Joey said. "That's what my wife says."
So cute! Congrats!
I'm pretty sure we don't need a sonogram photo to confirm Jennifer Hudson's pregnancy.
Though the singer has yet to address rumors that she and fiancé David Otunga are expecting their first child, I think it's safe to assume that there is, in fact, a baby on the way.
From this shot of Jen from Michael Jackson's public memorial on Tuesday, it could be construed that Usher is the baby's daddy -- but that would just be a silly rumor that we started.
Shhh -- pass it on.
So, it wasn't exactly a white wedding, but who cares?
Girl Next Door Kendra Wilkinson tied the knot with NFL player Hank Baskett on Saturday at the Playboy Mansion.
Surrounded by over 300 guests, including Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and, of course, Hugh Hefner, Kendra walked down the aisle beside her brother, Colin.
"She looked like a princess," Holly, a bridesmaid, told People.com. "It was a beautiful setting for a wedding."
According to UsMagazine.com, Kendra was also dripping in bling. The bride reportedly wore more than $100,000 worth of platinum and diamond jewelry by designer Michael Barin, including a pair of 4.25-carat platinum drop earrings, a 2.5-carat platinum pendant, and a 4.5-carat bracelet.
Oh, and another guest included Kendra and Hank's baby -- who is set to be born this Christmas.
Congrats to these cuties! They seem so in love.
Awww! What a great Father's Day for Matthew McConaughey!
The actor announced on his website Sunday night, that he and his girlfriend, Camila Alves, are expecting their second child.
"Happy Father's Day. It's my first, and the last 11 months with Levi and Camila have been the most rewarding adventure to date," Matt wrote. "We have more blessed news to celebrate this Father's Day that [will] make this time next year double the fun. Levi is going to be a big brother... Yeah, we pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time, Camila and I are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright as the family grows.... just keep livin, Matthew and Camila."
Such a sweet family. Congrats!
Let the speculation end!
People.com is confirming that Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are expecting their first child together.
Gisele is "ecstatic" sources say, about the baby that is due early next year.
The couple were married in February of this year, and this baby will join Tom's son, John, who he has with ex Bridget Moynahan.
Congrats!
How crazy is this?
Two Ohio police chiefs are under investigation for breaking in to Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate's home, in an attempt to get information to sell to the tabloids.
A local source told UsMagazine.com that the two police chiefs, Chief Barry Carpenter of Martins Ferry and Bridgeport Chief Chad DoJack, broke into the woman's home in May, looking for juicy goods to sell to a tabloid. Interestingly enough, it was the mag that then turned the crooked cops into authorities after discovering how the material was obtained.
Chief Carpenter insists the charges are unfounded. "I'm 100 percent innocent in this and my department is as well," he told a news station.
Matthew Broderick's publicist, Simon Hall, released this statement: "Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system. But because it's a criminal investigation, we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer."
Man, what is this world coming to? Police breaking into people's houses to sell info to crappy tabloids? Makes me just want to go back to bed.
Pregnant with baby numero quatro, Heidi Klum is as radiant as ever.
The model says that even her new big belly doesn't scare her -- in fact, she already knows there's more where that came from!
"I'm bigger than I should be, but I always gain 40-45 pounds, so I still have a ways to go," she told E! News at the CFDA Awards.
Heidi and hubby, Seal, are expecting a baby girl this fall.
Don't you wish we all could be so nonchalant about gaining weight?

Is Joshua Duggar, the oldest of the 18 children featured on TLC's 18 Kids and Counting, looking to follow his parents' example? Just a few months after their September 2008 wedding, Joshua and his wife, Anna, are expecting their first child.
Until now, the pair has been in the dark about the baby's sex, but Meredith Vieira revealed what they are preparing for on the Today Show Monday morning. The show provided a cake, telling Joshua and Anna that the interior color would reveal whether they were expecting a boy or a girl.
"I have had a feeling this whole time it's going to be a girl," Joshua told Meredith, moments before cutting the cake. "So now I'm for sure that it's a boy."
Moments later, as his parents and 17 siblings watched from home, Joshua sliced into a bright pink cake, indicating that the Duggars are expecting a baby girl!
Don't expect 18 new Duggars to be running around anytime soon, though. "We'd be happy with two or three," Joshua laughed. "I think that children are a blessing though and when you raise them right, they can be a great blessing."
Congrats!

A new Playboy (bunny) is on the way!
Former Hef girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson and her fiance, NFL player Hank Baskett, are having a baby!
"Hank and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together," Kendra told E!'s Marc Malkin. "We are touched by the outpouring of support by our family, friends and fans."
Kendra and Hank have been engaged since last November and are getting ready to wed on June 27 at the Playboy Mansion.
The couple had planned on starting their family quickly, as Kendra admitted a month ago that kids were on her mind.
"I plan on having them very soon," Kendra said. "We want to be young parents and be able to chase around our kids and run and coach our kids. So, very soon."
Was that a hint?
Congrats to this cutie couple!
Check this out -- sources say Jennifer Hudson is preggers -- and is seven months along!
According to the Chicago Tribune, Jen, who's engaged to former I Love New York contestant David Otunga, had a baby shower at a relative's home on Saturday.
"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," Felicia Fields, a friend of the Oscar winner told the paper. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."
Good job there, kiddo. You certainly blew up that spot.
A rep for Jen had no comment, but we will wish her congratulations anyway. She could use some happiness in her life right about now.
It's going to be a bouncing basketball baby supermodel!
Victoria's Secret beauty Adriana Lima is about to get even more glowing and beautiful, as she and hubby Marko Jaric are having a baby.
"Adriana and Marko are overjoyed that they are expecting their first child together and are excited to share the happy news and start their family together," their reps told People.com.
The lovebirds eloped last Valentine's Day, after dating sine 2006. The baby is due this winter.
Congrats!
Okay, so we all know this already, but Mel Gibson's girlfriend is expecting, confirms his rep.
"He couldn't be happier," said a friend of the actor. "He loves being a father."
But Oksana Grigorieva's pregnancy wasn't the reason Mel and his wife officially split. "This has nothing to do with the divorce. Mel didn't even know Oksana was pregnant when they filed."
Mel actually opened up to Jay Leno last night about the end of his marriage to Robin Gibson.
"My wife and I, our marriage ended three years ago and we've been separated ever since then. These things happen. It's unfortunate, it's sad, but you know she is an admirable woman - we still got kids together. We're friends."
So, what happened? "Look. When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself," Mel admitted. "I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here."
As for Okasan's pregnancy, Mel confirmed, "This is true. We're gonna have a child."
Jay then joked, "So that will make 29? "
"Well, actually eight. I guess I'm Octo-Mel," quipped the actor.
That was actually kind of funny.
In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Sarah Jessica Parker reveals that she is very worried for the woman who is carrying her yet-to-be-born twins.
"On a daily basis, on an hourly basis, I am greatly concerned for her health and safety and the safe delivery of our children." the actress said.
Sarah says her surrogate made "an incredibly generous and gracious choice" by giving her and hubby Matthew Broderick this gift, and she's appalled by the lengths certain members of the media would go to get a story on the woman.
"Obviously there are those that don't care about her, or her health, or safety, or my children's health and safety, and that they should go to term and not go into an early labor and, God forbid, suffer all the things that can happen - that is a real possibility," she says.
But the couple are doing their best to keep her out of the limelight -- and they seem to have really embraced her.
"I'm really comfortable with her. She's made a really big choice to be part of our lives and I think she's an honorable person," SJP said. "You can't express enough how much you think about decisions like this ... She's strong, bright, independent, thoughtful, caring, gracious and generous."
Let the woman be pregnant in peace, people. Pregnancy is tough enough -- twins are almost too hard for me to imagine -- and having the paparazzi chase you while this is all going on? Unthinkable.
Yikes!
According to TMZ.com, Mel Gibson's girlfriend has a bun in the oven!
Mel and his wife, Robyn Gibson, officially split in April, but it seems that Mel's hot little number, Oksana Grigorieva, is already in her second trimester.
A source says that the actor's wife and their seven children had been informed of the new little one that's on its way.
That must have been a comfortable conversation.
