Somewhere Kevin Bacon is doing his Footloose dance.
Businessman Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison today, for swindling a bunch of people, including Kevin and his wife, Kyra Sedgewick, and other celebs like Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, out of millions of dollars.
Federal investigators have identified 1,341 investors who trusted Madoff -- and now who have losses exceeding $13 billion.
Before receiving his sentence, Madoff attempted to apologize in court.
"I live in a tormented state for all the pain and suffering I created," he said. "I left a legacy of shame. It is something I will live with for the rest of my life."
"Saying I'm sorry is not enough. I turn to face you. I know it will not help. I'm sorry," he said to the victims in the courtroom.
"How can you excuse betraying thousands of investors?" he asked. "How can you excuse deceiving hundreds of employees? How can you excuse lying to and deceiving your wife who still stands by you?"
You can't, and unfortunately the 150 years doesn't get the cash back to all those people.
It was finally Jon Gosselin's turn to chase after all eight kids, as he celebrated Father's Day at his home in Pennsylvania.
According to People.com, Jon and his brood played lacrosse and splashed down a Slip N' Slide, while Kate was nowhere to be found. When asked by a bunch of fans (who just showed up outside the house) where the mom was, Jon simply said he had "no idea."
The Jon & Kate groupies then grilled the dad on whether or not the couple was headed for divorce, to which he answered, "You'll have to watch the show."
Ugh. Still trying to rake in the publicity....
Get this, Upper East Siders -- one of your fave Gossip Girl stars has been making some risque home movies -- and we may all have the chance to watch very soon.
According to TMZ.com, Leighton Meester has been caught on tape having sex with her boyfriend, and now, said tape is about to go public.
A company called celebhotline.com is reportedly negotiating for the video. The company's spokesperson, Kevin Blatt told TMZ, "We've seen the tape and we're hoping to close the deal."
A spokesperson for Leighton had no comment.
Deroda! Fix this!
Update: A deal may have been closed, as celeb-hotline.com (Warning: site not safe for work or chidlren!) has what seems to be pictures from the video.
- Photo by Getty Images - Even though she's left The Hills, Lauren Conrad is still causing drama.
This morning Lauren stopped by The View to promote her new book, LA Candy. Since Speidi visited the show a few days earlier, the ladies couldn't resist dragging them into the conversation. In one of the last episodes of The Hills, Spencer called Lauren to apologize for starting rumors that she made a sex tape with her ex-boyfriend, Jason Wahler. When The View hosts asked her what she thought of his apology, Lauren revealed that it never really happened.
Apparently, Spencer filmed his end of the phone conversation separately, and Lauren was later told to act surprised and pretend to be talking to him. I feel so deceived!
How do you think Spencer is going to react to her confession that his apology was a big fat lie? Does anyone even care?
We knew he was a creep!
David Archuleta's dad, Jeff Archuleta, was busted in a prostitution raid in January.
It seems that the American Idol runner-up's dad was getting, ahem, services, at a massage parlor in Utah, when cops busted in.
"Two of our detectives went back to that room to stop the activity," Midvale Police Sgt. John Salazar said. "Inside they found a female masseuse and male client. At that time an interview ensued and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the masseuse."
Even though the over-bearing dad's lawyer says his client was there getting a legit back massage, Jeff pleaded no contest to the charges and paid a $582 fine.
Not such a happy ending after all. Tee hee.
Kate Gosselin is not making excuses for spanking her children.
"Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first," Kate said in a statement to Life and Style, after In Touch splashed Kate on the cover, calling her and "out of control" parent. "I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation."
Kate was snapped spanking daughter Leah, 5, after the little girl refused to stop blowing a whistle while her mom was on the phone.
To spank or not to spank is such a hot topic. Is there much of a difference between spanking and hitting? Is it the only effective solution sometimes? Does violence breed violence? Discuss.
Bravo really hit the jackpot when they decided to go over to the Garden State for the new season of the The Real Housewives.
The latest drama comes in the form of a sex tape scandal (our favorite!). Seems Danielle Staub's ex-boyfriend, Steve Zalewski, 27, has some pretty interesting footage of the 47-year-old engaged in sex acts with him and by herself -- and Steve says this cougar was a sex fiend!
"Not only does she want to have sex all the time, but she loves the thrill of doing it in public places, where she might get caught," he told Star. "She wanted to make love in restaurant bathrooms basically every time we went out -- she'd get all excited and say, 'The people can hear you doing it outside!'"
Steve also says that, though the Jersey girl likes to give the appearance that she's rolling in dough, she's had to borrow money from him on more than one occasion. "Sometimes she couldn't pay the household bills or buy food," he alleges. "Even then, she'd want to borrow 20 grand from me to buy jewelry!"
Now Steve is looking to make back some of that cash, buy selling the steamy sex tapes he has of Danielle.
"I'm definitely weighing my options as far as selling them and getting them out there," he says. "She cost me so much money, why shouldn't I make a few dollars?"
What a stand-up guy! What was she thinking when she dumped him?
How crazy is this?
Two Ohio police chiefs are under investigation for breaking in to Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate's home, in an attempt to get information to sell to the tabloids.
A local source told UsMagazine.com that the two police chiefs, Chief Barry Carpenter of Martins Ferry and Bridgeport Chief Chad DoJack, broke into the woman's home in May, looking for juicy goods to sell to a tabloid. Interestingly enough, it was the mag that then turned the crooked cops into authorities after discovering how the material was obtained.
Chief Carpenter insists the charges are unfounded. "I'm 100 percent innocent in this and my department is as well," he told a news station.
Matthew Broderick's publicist, Simon Hall, released this statement: "Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system. But because it's a criminal investigation, we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer."
Man, what is this world coming to? Police breaking into people's houses to sell info to crappy tabloids? Makes me just want to go back to bed.
We knew it was just a matter of time before we got the scoop on where Jon Gosselin spent the weekend of his tenth anniversary with estranged wife Kate.
But it's pretty uninteresting -- and just kind of sad.
While Kate spent the days with her kids, Jon had lunch with a guy friend at the Stir Crazy Fresh Asian Grill in West Nyack, N.Y.
A waiter from the eatery told People.com that a grim-looking Jon sat in the back of the restaurant for about 45 minutes on Saturday afternoon. "He was shy and reserved."
But the server also said that the dad of eight was checking in on his family. "Jon was on the phone most of the time and was definitely talking to his kids."
After his lunch, Jon did some shopping, heading to Brooks Brothers and The Sports Authority at the Palisades Center.
"He didn't look very happy," an employee at Brooks Brothers said. "It looked like he just wanted to be left alone."
Sounds like a pretty crappy way to spend your anniversary.
I guess if Chris Brown can't win back Rihanna's love, he'll just replace her with someone who he can pretend is her.
The singer was seen at Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Orlando on Sunday with a chick who looked very much like Ri Ri -- but wasn't.
Teyana Taylor, an 18-year-old rapper/singer from New York, was the lady with Chris at the ballgame. And she wasn't too thrilled with everyone in the world thinking she was someone else.
While watching the game, Teyana Twittered, "If one more reporter says that I'm Rihanna, I'm gonna go crazy." Following it up with, "I look nothin like Rihanna."
Okay, try telling that to Chris when he's messing up your name later in the night.
It's not like we really had high hopes that Jon and Kate Gosselin would have some romantic reunion on their 10th anniversary.
Nope. The estranged couple spent their big day separate, as Kate spent most of the weekend with just the kids.
"A TLC crew spent all weekend at the house shooting," a source told E! Online.
On Sunday, Kate ran around town doing errands -- and she wasn't even in the presence of her maybe-boyfriend bodyguard, Steve Neild!
As for Jon, well, how he spent the big weekend is not yet known -- but we're sure there will be some giant tabloid cover about it by the end of the week.
Lots of action at last night's NBA finals game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic.
No, I'm no talking about the actual basketball-playing, but about the fact that both Chris Brown and Rihanna were in attendance!
According to a source, Chris and Rihanna actually requested to sit together(!), but when the time came, they were seated in separate sections. They also avoided each other during halftime, where they hung out in different lounge areas.
Rihanna has just been subpoenaed to testify at Chris' next hearing -- so, what is the deal with them?
Do you think they are actually still together but are laying low until the case is over? How could she want to hang with him after what he did to her?
It's mind-blowing.
Former Miss California Carrie Prejean is super pissed about her firing.
The beauty queen was stripped of her crown yesterday afternoon by boss Donald Trump -- and she's not buying that it's because she violated her contract. Carrie even says that pageant head Keith Lewis actually encouraged her to pose for Playboy magazine and appear in the Heidi & Spencer-stuffed reality series I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!
"What's behind this, I think, is a political debate. They don't agree with the stance that I took [on California's Proposition 8].... From day one they wanted me out, and they got what they wanted."
Probably true -- but I don't blame them one bit.
Fabulous!
Miss California, Carrie Prejean, has been stripped of her crown, TMZ.com reports.
The Miss USA runner-up, who was under fire for her outspoken beliefs against the legalization of gay marriage, has finally rubbed boss Donald Trump the wrong way.
Inside sources say that Carrie has been flaking on scheduled events and has not been clearing her outside activities -- which is part of her contract.
Perez Hilton's nemesis received her termination papers this afternoon.
The new Miss California USA will be the current Miss Malibu, Tami Farrell.
Do you hear that? It's Perez and his parade celebrating...
As Kate Gosselin turned 34 (I can't believe I'm older than her!) on March 28, sources say her hubby, Jon Gosselin, was curled up with his alleged mistress -- and all smoked up -- in Park City, Utah.
Jon met up with Deanna Hummel at the annual Pond Skimming race at the Spring Gruv festival in Park City, and after hung out with friends and drank beer, while Kate and her eight took a trip to the Ace of Cakes store.
"Hey, it's Kate's birthday," Jon told a friend, the new Us Weekly reports. "I should get her something."
He did go to a jewelry store but left empty-handed.
Later that night, Jon hung with Deanna at the Downstairs bar, where a pal said, "It was snuggle-o-matic."
Um, barf.
Then, an interesting scent wafted from Jon's crowd, as a witness said the reality star was "reeking of pot. I know that the kids he's hanging out with like a little herbal substance."
So, in a nutshell, Jon's a cheating, dirty pothead, while Kate is an overbearing, money-grubbing witch. And how are things not working out for them?

Who has been through the tabloid mill for, I don't know, the past 20 years?
That's right -- Tori Spelling.
So, it would make sense that she would have some words of advice for reality stars Jon & Kate Gosselin, who are getting trashed by the media lately for every move they make.
Tori says that she used to be a huge fan of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, but now, "it seems to have gone to an odd place."
"I loved the fact that they were a normal family; they weren't in Hollywood," Tori told Extra. "It's hard for me now to see them on the cover of People magazine...I was like, 'Wow, I'm not watching a celebrity family on TV. I'm actually watching a real family, and I want to know what that's like so I can relate to that.' So now it's gone to a whole different level, and I feel bad for them."
Tori dug deep and tried to offer some words of wisdom to the couple.
"I hope they're prepared for what they are going through and just know that this too shall pass...Next week, it will be someone else on the cover and you can go about your life. Good luck to them."
I bet she's just hoping it's not her again.
Long before there was Jon, TLC, and her eight kids, Jon & Kate Plus 8's Kate Gosselin had some other drama going on in her life.
You see, Kate was engaged to a guy named Adam Miller, who told Star that, after Kate pressured him to propose, she cheated on him at his own 21st birthday party!
"She hooked up with some guy in a Corvette," Adam said. "She was always chasing the money."
"I spoiled Kate with gifts, like a diamond bracelet and a gold locket, and she loved that," Adam, who met Kate when he was just 17, told the mag. "I think one of the main reasons she liked me is that I had so much money flowing."
I love how all of these people just keep coming out of the woodwork. Not that I think Kate is any kind of saint, but isn't it a tad hypocritical that they are basically calling her a money-grubbing whore, while they are selling their souls to the tabloid devils?
Apparently, Eminem is a better actor than I thought.
I was pretty convinced that there was no way the Em/Sacha Baron Cohen fiasco, at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, was staged, but, when I'm wrong I say I'm wrong (Dirty Dancing reference).
"I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it," Eminem told RapRadar about the incident in which Sacha's Bruno character flew down form the ceiling in a thong and put his junk in the rapper's face. "It had so many people going 'nuts' so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it."
Apparently, Em and Sacha are pals.
"Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards," Mr. 8 Mile revealed. "I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag."
"After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours," he admitted. "Especially after I saw it on air."
Okay, so maybe he does have a sense of humor and can dish what he takes. I promise to be more forgiving the next time out, Em.
After being called a "stalker" by Eddie Cibrian's wife, I would have some choice words for Brandi Glanville. But, LeAnn Rimes has decided not to stoop to the model's level and badmouth anyone to the press. Instead, she's going to be the Southern good girl that she is and, if she doesn't have anything nice to say, not say anything at all.
"You know what, I'm a classy woman, I'm never ever going to battle anything out in the press," LeAnn Rimes told People.com, in response to Brandi's interview with Us Weekly, in which Eddie's wife says LeAnn is aggressively pursuing her husband.
"I have respect for everyone that is involved and everyone's family, including my own," the singer/actress said. "I would never want to hurt my husband or anyone else with more lies dragged out in the press."
LeAnn's rep called Brandi's stalker talk "incredibly defamatory," but LeAnn seems to be taking it all in stride.
"It is what it is," she sighed. "I can't control other people but I can control what I say and what I don't. I refuse to get down on any one else's level and I'm going to take the high road on everything."
This is one of those stories that has really piqued my interest. Like, I'm dying to know what's really going on between Eddie and LeAnn. Hopefully somebody spills the whole story soon.
It's Jon Gosselin's turn to speak out on the controversy that's surrounding his family.
Though People.com says that Jon was were cautious about what he said about his strained marriage to Kate Gosselin -- he was very vocal about thing -- his eight kids, and the media claims that they are being exploited by TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8.
"Exploited? I don't even want to use that word, because I think it's ridiculous," he spit back.
Jon insists that he has his children's best interest at heart, and that he will do whatever to insure their happiness - even if it means quitting the show.
For more on Jon's take on the circus his life has become, pick up the new issue of People.
This is good!
Eddie Cibrian's wife, Brandi Glanville, is totally going on the record about the relationship between her hubby and his costar LeAnn Rimes -- and Brandi says it's Leann who can't over it.
"LeAnn is a stalker," Brandi tells the new issue of Us Weekly. "She refuses to leave us alone -- it is shameful and scary. People are going to say it takes two to tango and I get that, but at some point LeAnn needs to stop asking him to dance."
Eddie and LeAnn were caught in some compromising positions two months ago, but Brandi says that Eddie has since tried to cut all ties with the singer/actress -- to no avail. The mom of two alleges that LeAnn followed Eddie to a Lakers game on May 17 -- two weeks after he was forced to change his phone number because of LeAnn's "constant texting and calling."
Brandi insists she "not a scorned wife." Instead, she says she's "a happy wife fighting for what I have."
The mom of two is going off -- calling LeAnn's behavior "disgusting" and saying she just wants the publicity.
"LeAnn is so desperate for fame she has left her self-respect in the gutter and doesn't care who she hurts to get what she wants," Brandi swiped. "She's hurting my family and messing with the wrong mom."
LeAnn's rep did not comment, but a source says: "Eddie and Brandi are both on the record on this and LeAnn has kept quiet, so what does that tell you about who is after fame and press?"
Is it obvious to anyone else what is really going on? Eddie and LeAnn are totally having an affair -- he's not trying to stop it -- but is making Brandi think that LeAnn is crazy and obsessed so that he'll get off easy. This is all going to blow up one day soon. Can't wait.
Three years after Brandy was involved in a car accident that killed a woman, the singer has settled in court with the victim's children.
According to TMZ.com, Awatef Aboudihaj's two children will receive $300,000 each. Marouane Hdidou, the victim's husband, rejected his part of a $1.2 million settlement offer in February, and still has yet to settle with Brandy.
How much do you think Brandy wants to put this behind her?
Having multiple babies? Wanna see your life get ruined by reality TV?
Then, by all means, answer TLC's new Craigslist ad (it's gone now) for a brand new Jon & Kate Plus 8-type family. This is what it said:
"Are you expecting multiples and want to share this extraordinary event with TLC???
"TLC is now looking for NY, NJ, and CT families who are expecting twins, triplets, or more! We would capture the birth of the babies and witness their amazing first breath, first cry, and all the emotions that go along with such an incredible occasion. Then, TLC will be there as you leave the hospital and adjust to your first few days at home as a family."
Obviously the execs at the network are loving the high ratings and crazy media attention that Jon & Kate are bringing in -- so why not exploit another unsuspecting family? Maybe lightening can really strike twice.
Who cares about child labor laws and all that nonsense, right? Seriously, though, would you even consider this?
At least she still has her body.
Kate Gosselin took all eight kids to the beach on Bald Head Island this weekend -- without husband Jon.
Accompanied by a nanny and THE bodyguard, Kate and her eight took the ferry over earlier last week. A local resident said that Kate looked "like a movie star. She had a manicure and looked really like she takes care of herself. She didn't seem unhappy. She actually seemed to be in a good mood; she was making jokes with everyone. She was talking loud to the kids, things like, 'Don't stand over there. Don't touch that.' She sounded like a mom."
Well, she certainly doesn't look like a mom who had six babies in that belly at one time -- but, then again, she did get a free tummy tuck when she and her now-estranged hubby signed on to do TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8.
I bet she's so happy about that now.
The hits just keep on coming for Jon & Kate Gosselin, who have been the talk of the tabloid world since their marriage has hit some major bumps in the road.
Now, the Pennsylvania labor department is investigating whether the couple's TLC show Jon and Kate Plus 8 is complying with the state's child labor laws.
"I can confirm that our bureau of labor law compliance is conducting an investigation as they do whenever they receive a charge," said Christopher Manlove, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, told People.com.
Nobody's giving up the names of the people who made the complaint -- but I'll bet it's someone very close the family.
"Because the case is ongoing I can't discuss the content of the investigation," the rep said.
TLC released a statement Friday saying, "TLC fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations. Jon and Kate + 8 is no exception. For an extended period of time, we have been engaged in cooperative discussions and supplied all requested information to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. We will continue to engage the appropriate officials and meet any standards or regulations that are applicable to TLC productions."
It so sucks to be them right now.
If you watched The Real Housewives of New Jersey this week, you saw that the rest of the housewives were starting to question all the rumors about Danielle Staub -- Is she a husband stealer? Was she a stripper? And the promos for next week's episode show Dina Manzo getting her hands on a copy of a book, "Cop Without a Badge," which supposedly features Danielle's mug shot.
Why exactly was Danielle getting her photograph taken at the police station? Well New Jersey's Star Ledger got a copy of the book (which is now out-of-print - sad), so now we have all the scoop.
The book tells the story of a woman named Beverly Merrill (who uses the name Danielle when she strips -- see the connection?) who has slept with thousands of men. As for the mug shot, "Beverly" apparently was partying with a drug dealer who had kidnapped, beat and starved a kid who owed him money, before calling the kid's dad for ransom. Beverly was then charged with extortion, kidnapping and possession. However, her main man, Kevin Maher, worked out a deal so she received only five years' probation. Kevin and Beverly eventually settled down -- Kevin was still married to his first wife at the time -- but he left Beverly after finding out she was cheating on him.
And, to top it all off, Gawker.com did a search of public records, only to find out that Danielle Staub did in fact go by the name Beverly Merrill.
So, do you believe it?
So many stories, so little time.
Other than what we do know for sure -- that Jon & Kate Gosselin are not exactly spending quality family time together these days -- there are tons of different rumors out there about what went on and what is still going between these two. Here's a quick look at the latest rumblings on the couple:
- Us Weekly says that Kate gave Jon a daily allowance of $5 -- and, if he spent it and needed more, she went nuts. That seems a little unlikely -- how could he possibly find anything today for less than $5? He certainly couldn't go to Starbucks. Maybe he was eating off the dollar menu at Mickey Ds.
- Kate's brother is jumping on the trash-talking bandwagon and is reportedly looking to sell his take on his sister's family to the right media outlet -- for $30,000. Kevin Kreider and his wife, "Aunt Jodi", have already appeared on CBS' Early Show, where they had the nerve to say that Jon & Kate were exploiting their family. Okay, kettle.
- A source has told Star magazine that the Gosselin's troubles are greatly affecting their eight kids . "The boys have been acting out since the scandal started," the insider said. Also, Mady and Cara, 8, have become withdrawn. "They're having trouble at school," says the source. "They're old enough to know what's going on, and not a day goes by that they don't ask Jon if he's moving out. They say, 'Daddy, don't go!' They're scared they'll lose him." Heartbreaking.
- The very trustworthy (not) National Enquirer is reporting that Jon & Kate are headed for a $10 million divorce. "Jon said their goal is to be legally separated by July 15 because Kate wants to move on quickly," an insider reveals. "Jon is going to push for half of their money, but Kate is determined to hang on to as much as she can -- and they're worth more than you think... Needless to say, there's a small fortune at stake here -- easily $10 million. And Jon and Kate will be fighting over it like cats and dogs!"
- Kate's writing a new cookbook! Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories is due in stores Oct. 13, 2009 -- but some people already have a problem with it. Commenters on Amazon.com are saying that Kate can't cook, and that she's stealing recipes from "product boxes and magazine articles." These people have nothing better to do with themselves, obviously.
So, there you have it -- you're all caught up. Let's not talk about them for at least the next 10 minutes.
I feel like every year somebody says that the American Idol finale was rigged, or that the voting count was off, or that Ryan Seacrest read the wrong the name off the card.
This time around, the controversy is surrounding the claims that corporate sponsor AT&T unfairly swayed the show's outcome by providing Kris Allen fans with free "power texts."
According to The New York Times, AT&T provided phones for free text-messaging services at two parties(!) in Arkansas on the night of the finals. The paper says that AT&T reps showed Kris' supporters how to "power text" -- cast 10 votes at the touch of a button -- which violates show rules, and that nothing of the sort was provided for Adam Lambert's fans.
Really? Two parties in Arkansas? Like that's going to make the difference.
On Wednesday, Fox, Idol producers 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia denied the claims in a statement:
"Fox and the producers of American Idol are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition."
AT&T also released a statement:
"Last week, countless parties were held in homes, bars, and other public places across America to watch the American Idol finale. In Arkansas, a few local AT&T employees were invited to attend two local watch parties organized by the community. Caught up in the enthusiasm of rooting for their hometown contestant, they brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.
"Going forward, we will make sure our employees understand our sponsorship celebrates the competition, not individual contestants. That said, it's quite a leap to suggest that a few individuals could have impacted the final results."
Yeah, so they screwed up with the power texts -- but that's not why Kris won. I think Adam Lambert's die-hard fans are just in denial. Get over it, people, it's just a show.
The new issue of Us Weekly isn't pulling any punches. They've put Kate Gosselin on the cover and are calling her monster.
Their cover story outlines the fact that the mom of eight has fired over 30 staff members in three months in 2005, and she was about as awful to the people that worked for her as she is to husband Jon.
The mag even says that Kate's craziness had caused a rift between her and her father, who is a pastor, after he offered to give the Gosselins cribs donated by his parishioners.
"They didn't match and Kate rejected them," a family friend said.
Kate's dad said his daughter "thought they were owed stuff. The money factor was huge."
What's your take on Kate? Is the world just taking parts of a story and making more out of it than it is -- or could she really be as terrible as she seems?
Alec Baldwin has this amazing ability to stick his foot so far in his mouth it can blow your mind.
Granted, the 30 Rock star was just joking around with David Letterman when he said he was "thinking about getting a Filipino mail-order bride at this point...or a Russian one," but the people in the Philipines are missing the humor.
Philippine Sen. Ramon Ravilla called Alec's quip "arrogant, insensitive and uncalled for" and says the actor insulted millions of his fellow citizens. And that they are not going to be so forgiving should Alec make a visit.
"Let him try to come to the Philippines and he'll see mayhem," he said.
Is Alec just misunderstood, or do you think the reaction is legit?
