Some of Hollywood's heavy hitters are coming out for a cancer telethon this September.

Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, and Charlize Theron are just a few of the giant names that will be participating in the Stand Up To Cancer telethon. The show will air simultaneously on all three major networks, in hopes to raise an optimal amount of cash for cancer treatment and research.

Other big names set to appear -- American Idol love David Cook, Christina Applegate, Meryl Streep and Sally Field, to name a few. In addition, tons of other famous faces, from sports figures to movie stars will be involved in the Sept. 5th broadcast.

Do your part -- watch and donate. I promise to do the same.

Hey! Britney Spears hit a star-studded event Saturday night, hanging with Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey at their fundraiser for Generation Rescue, an organization dedicated to researching autism.

"She looked great and seemed really happy," a guest told People.com, of the pop star.

She didn't socialize much with the other partygoers, but "she smiled and clapped during the video about autism. She was very into the information and watched a little bit of the dancers from Dancing with the Stars, sneaking out during one of the performances."

Nice, Brit. Get back out there -- have a little fun all while being a responsible adult. It can be done, you know.

Not that I would know, I just spent all day yesterday getting over a massive hangover from partying too hard in Atlantic City. I really should learn to take my own advice.

Crazy. That's all I can really say about the news that the first pics of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's newest babies are currently going for somewhere between $11 million and $12 million, as of yesterday.

Sources say that both People and OK! are battling it out for first dibs on twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline and  "both wanted it at all costs."

People got the first pics after Shiloh was born, so I'm going to say they will probably win out again, but OK! staffers say their owner, Richard Desmond, is ready to match and beat the other mags, because "he can spread the cost of the pictures among 17 international editions" of the tab.

Brangie will, no doubt, be giving the cash away to charity, so it' pretty much a win-win for all involved.

“Being a new mother, it was really important for me to get excited about this election. It is such one of change and new development for our country and for the future of my son. I want the best possibilities for him.”

and Angelina Jolie just keep on giving.

The supercouple's charity, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, has just donated $1 million to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which will aid American and Iraqi children suffering from the war.

"These educational support programs for children of conflict are the best way to help them heal," Angie said.

The cool mil will be split down the middle -- $500,000 for the Armed Service YMCA Operation Hero Program, which helps educate and emotionally support children of military personnel serving in Iraq, and $500,000 will go to groups dealing with Iraqi women and children, such as Women for Women International, The International Rescue Committee, and NineMillion.org.

"We hope to encourage others to give to these great organizations," said Brad Pitt.

These two are do-gooders at their best.

Angelina Jolie appears in a new PSA, hoping to raise awareness for World Refugee Day on June 20th.

"They have survived war, they have survived displacement, they have survived rape, they have survived hunger and disease. For those who have survived and for those who did not, we are thinking of you on this day," Angie says in the emotional clip.

You guys can't possibly find fault in this, can you?

Lohan-Visa.jpg

Lindsay Lohan wants us to see that she has a heart of gold. Literally. Can you see it?

This is actually an ad for a charitable cause, if you can believe it. Lindsay is the new face (and boobs) of The Visa Swap UK 2008 Campaign, that asks British consumers to swap their unwanted clothes for charity at specific locations all over England.

"The concept of swapping clothes, getting something for nothing and refreshing your wardrobe appeals to everyone," Lindsay said.

Interesting....

Wasn't Lindsay just accused of stealing some girl's fur coat in a club?

You haters are going to love this.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have ranked No. 21 on Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People list. They are under the "Heroes & Pioneers" heading and come in just ahead of Oprah Winfrey.

In article written about the couple, by their pal George Clooney, the actor says, "It is one thing to talk about the problems of the world and quite another to actually try to change things."

"There are hundreds of people who could be honored for their good works," he continues, "But I've seen Brad and Angelina firsthand, and their commitment together is truly impressive."

What do you guys have to say about this?

FYI: I've put on my suit of armor in anticipation....

Brad Pitt made an appearance on last night's Idol Gives Back, sending the audience into a frenzy. Always the do-gooder, Brad was on hand to introduce the video of Daughtry's trip to Uganda.

Though I'm not usually a huge fan of Brad, I have to say that he did make my heart flutter a bit last night. I think I may have just been emotional form the whole broadcast, which made me weep for the second year in a row.

Did you watch? More importantly, did you donate? If you didn't -- do it now. It's for the kids.

angelianonirag.jpgAngelina Jolie
arrived to discuss "Iraq, Education, and Children of Conflict" in Washington, D.C.yesterday, where she spoke to the Council on Foreign Relations about the need to educate Iraqi children.

"It is a fact that the best way to heal children in conflict and their trauma is to focus their minds on their future," she said in her speech. "This population we're talking about is the future of Iraq," she added. "So to reach them now, to help deal with their trauma and refocus their minds on a possible future should absolutely be one of our top priorities.

"We need these kids ... to rebuild their country, to stabilize their country and eventually lead their country."

Angelina has visited Iraq twice this year, and she stresses that the way to diminish the violence in the country is to open the kids' minds to what they can become, if give the opportunity.

“We need them to grow up and be doctors and lawyers and engineers and teachers,” she said. “We need them to rebuild their country, stabilize their countries and eventually lead their countries.”

You have to hand it to Angelina -- she's got four kids already, one (or two) on the way, a pretty decent acting career, and is using her celebrity to try and make this world a better place. It's pretty admirable.

ryan seacrest.jpgRyan Seacrest
is on board for the big Idol Gives Back bonanza -- obviously as the host, but also as a contributor.

The man with many jobs decided to donate his night's pay to the cause, and do the star-studded spectacular for free. A source close to the television mogul tells People.com that Ryan's trip to Africa, for last year's American Idol special, had a huge affect on him.

“When he and Simon went to Africa last year and saw the children, it was really life-altering for him,” says the source. “He just knew he had to do his part and be willing to put his money where his mouth is.”

No word on how much one night's paycheck actually is, but I'm sure it's a lot more than my $50 donation.

is a home boy. Okay, he's not my homeboy, but JT still honors where he came from. The pop star has donated $200,000 to the Memphis Rock 'N' Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Foundation.

Justin's moolah will go to the local student's music education and achieving the foundation's mission of "telling the story of Memphis Music and perpetuating its legacy."

“We were overwhelmed when he came in and presented a big check to each of us,” John Doyle, the museum’s executive director, told UsMagazine.com.

You, too, can be wearing Britney Spears' How I Met Your Mother duds, as the producers of the show are sponsoring the sale of Brit's sitcom wardrobe for charity. The profits from the sale will go to the Natural Resources Defense Council, so, by wearing an outfit previously donned by Brit, you'll be helping the environment, as well as your social status.

Items included in the auction, which begins tonight, right after Britney's guest episode of HIMYM, are a navy print Juicy Couture dress, a yellow Nannette Lepore dress and a cream Nannette Lepore cardigan with blue flower details.

Get the clothes that have covered Britney's bits and be a hero!

Say what you want about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but they certainly put their money where their mouth is.

According to federal tax filings, Brangelina have donated over $4 million each to their foundation in 2006. According to UsMagazine.com, half of the donation came from sale of their baby photos. Whattaya have to say about that?

So, where does the money from their joint foundation go? Well, a bunch of places -- $2.4 million, including $1 million gifts, went to Doctors Without Borders and the Global AIDS Alliance; $137,935 to the Namibia Red Cross Action Program; $100,000 to the Daniel Pearl Foundation; and $100,000 to the Epidermolysis Bulloma Medical Research Foundation. The couple are also involved in helping rebuild the Gulf Coast.

Not to shabby, eh? Whatever has happened in the past, Brad & Angie are now setting a stellar example for their children -- and their babies on the way.

That McDreamy! He's too good.

Patrick Dempsey announced plans to open a new cancer ward at the Central Maine Medical Center. The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is inspired by the actor's mother, Amanda Dempsey, who fought ovarian cancer -- and beat it.

"For a family to get a cancer diagnosis is devastating, and all the information out there can be overwhelming," Patrick told the media today. "So I talked to my sister about a place where people could go for all this type of information and help. Knowledge is power."

His sister, Mary, works at the hospital, and will run the center, which is scheduled to open on March 31.

Celebs doing good -- love it.

Totally my new favorite celebrity couple -- Drew Barrymore and Justin Long are absolutely giddy with love for each other.

Drew went on Oprah's show to give away a million dollars to charity and, while she was there, the actress and her beau just couldn't help gushing over one another.

"She smells good," Justin told Ops, when she asked what he liked about Drew. "She's beautiful," he said, "and funny. The most compassionate person I've ever met."

Drew, who recently got back from a Mexican vacation with her honey, was "glowing", according to Oprah. The actress explained to the talk show host, "When you grow up … you decide what you want to be," and said her relationship with Justin was "healthy, productive, supportive and full of humor."

How sweet -- she actually said they're having an "excellent time."

I love them and want them to come over to play Yahtzee at my house. I love the love!

I love when celebs do good things just for the heck of it.

Drew Barrymore is one of those stars that just has a good soul. The dedicated actress announced on Monday's Oprah show that she is donating $1 million to the World Food Programme to help feed children in Africa.

"I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child's life," the actress said. "It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future."

Drew, who became an Ambassador Against Hunger last year, has already taken two trips to Kenya to see the organization's work first hand.

And good move announcing it on Oprah's show -- get it out there! One Big Give deserves another.

is planning a trip to Kuwait, to do a little show for our troops over there. She's posted this message on a fan site:

"Hey ya'll. I just wanted to say hi, and let you know that I am hard at work on my country record, and I can't wait to share it will all of you. I am heading to Kuwait to do a show for the troops, then back in the studio. I love you all and am so blessed by the support and love you show me everyday!! xoxo jess"

Smart move on Jessica's part (did I just say that?) -- do something good for the world, while beefing up your self confidence. You know those military peeps are going to be starved for some hot, blonde, prettied-up eye candy, and lucky for them, Jess is the perfect person to provide it. Tony Romo might have to go along for the trip and tackle anyone who gets a little too friendly with his woman.
