UPDATE: The New York Post says that the wedding between Mariah and Nick took place at a home Mims recently purchased in Eleuthera, the Bahamas.

Forget the engagement -- sources say that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have lost their minds and went got married yesterday!

An insider reportedly spilled the beans to Latina magazine, saying that the newly-dating couple were "very impulsive," and flew to some island to say their vows. Only a few were present for the nups, including Mariah's BFF, Da Brat.

What the hell? These two met, like, a minute ago, and Nick gave Mariah a hand-me-down ring. Ridiculous.

Javier Bardem had pulled out of filming the new movie version of the Broadway musical Nine, because he is just too pooped to pop.

According to Variety, Javier was pegged to play Guido Contini, a film director with a lot of women in his life, but he just couldn't commit.  His peeps said that though Penelope's love thought the script was great and that he was psyched to work with director Rob Marshall, Javier was just completely drained from his past year of work and the awards season. They said the No Country for Old Men star could be taking up to a year off.

Wow!  Who knew being a fabulous actor, winning Oscars, and dating one sexy mamasita could take such a toll.

A source close to Mimi has confirmed to Access Hollywood that the couple, who have only been dating a few months, are engaged -- and that rock Mariah was flashing at her movie premiere the other night is from Nick.

One glitch -- another source confirmed to PerezHilton.com, that the ring in question is the SAME ring Nick gave to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks when he asked her to marry him!

TACKY!

There's no way Mariah knew that and let it fly.

Like a smitten schoolgirl, Jessica Simpson is giddy over her romance with Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo -- and she's yelling it from the rooftops.

"It feels like forever," Jess tells the new issue of Glamour. "I love this guy. Can you feel it?"

The singer says that dating Tony has brought her back to who she really is.

"What he's done for me is irreplaceable," she says. "He reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. ... Tony taught me that because he loves me [as me]. He made me feel comfortable [being myself] again.

Jessica said that dating people like John Mayer, after her split from Nick Lachey, who she said there was too much competition with, made her feel like she needed to be something she's not -- you know, like smart.

"You change with the guys you date. [I thought] I had to be more intellectual."

But, Jessica's footballer swooped in and accepted her for the ditz that she is. He admitted to a longtime crush on her on TV, which she saw, and it led to them getting together. On their first date, after phone calls and emails, Tony threw caution to the wind and went in for a big smooch. Jessica was taken back, but totally psyched at the same time.

"He goes like this across the table," Jess recalled, puckering up. "I go, 'What are you doing?' He goes, 'Nothing,' and starts pouting. I said, 'Were you just trying to kiss me in front of all these people?' He goes, 'Maybe.' I'm like, 'Try it again.' "

"The fact that this guy, on our first date, in the first 10 minutes of dinner, wanted to lean over the table and say, This is my girl and I want to kiss her – our first kiss in front of everybody – was awesome."

Awww. That is a really sweet story and, though I do pick on Jess for not being the brightest bulb in the bunch, I do think she is genuinely a good, nice person who deserves to be happy. Even if her happiness does come fully equipped with face-licking.

The new issue of the mag outlines their Miami hookup, saying that this new, hot twosome spent five whole days in Jen's hotel room.

According to E! Online, LC has taken up with Doug Reinhardt, a 22-year-old Californian, who plays baseball for the Baltimore Orioles' minor league team. And he's cute.

Lauren and Doug have been seeing snuggling at Goa and attending Stephanie Pratt's birthday party together at Boulevard3 -- a party that was filmed for The Hills. Drama!

Apparently, Doug is no stranger to reality TV (shocking), as his sister, Casey, was on season 2 of Laguna Beach with Lauren and Co., but I have no recollection of her and Doug never appeared on camera.

I would like to get to know him better.

Benji Madden is killing me. The Good Charlotte rocker has done the unthinkable and has given Paris Hilton even more reason to think she's the greatest thing since sliced bread -- he's written her a song. And, no surprise, she's telling the world.

"He actually wrote me a beautiful song, and actually recorded it in the studio," Paris told People.com. "He surprised me with it. It's called, 'Shine Your Light.' It's this really beautiful love song about me. It was the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me."

Let me tell you what I got out of  that sentence: "Actually, me, me, me, actually, me."

But, Paris continued to gush about how wonderful her boyfriend of two whole months is to her. "He's my best friend," she said. "He's just different from any guy that I've ever been with. I just trust him completely, and I know that he'd be there for me, no matter what."

So, is she already planning a spectacle of a wedding?

"I don't know," she smiled, "My life's a lot different now, I'm very much at peace, and I'm so happy, and in control, and so very excited about life."

There's no way Benji is coming out of this unscathed.

Mimi, doing her best to always keep the spotlight where it belongs -- on her -- flashed a huge, diamond rock on her left ring finger last night, at the premiere of her new movie, Tennessee. Also making waves was the sight of Nick, who remained very close to his new love, holding her hand at Tenjune's afterparty for the film.

When asked if the duo had gotten engaged, Nick's rep had no comment, but Mariah's young buck gushed that he loved "everything" about the pop diva.

If they are suddenly getting married, they could easily give Paris and Benji a run for their money in the Most Ridiculous Relationship category.

According to People.com, John and Jen had (count 'em) two dates this past Friday in Miami. First they had a private lunch at Michael's Genuine Food & Drink in the Miami Design District -- which opened early especially for them -- where they shared their meals like a lovey-dovey twosome.

"I can't speculate on what kind of meeting it was but they looked happy and seemed to have a great time," the owner of the eatery said.

Later that night J&J re-teamed for a late dinner at Casa Tua on South Beach. As they left, around 1 a.m., John reportedly put his arm around Jen and, when they got back to her hotel, they were holding hands!

So, what's up? Supposedly they met through mutual pal Sheryl Crow. Maybe John is trying to make everyone forget that he totally made out with Perez Hilton and lied about it?

The One Tree Hill beauty was previously married to costar Chad Michael Murray, after a whirlwind romance, but sadly split after only five months of marriage, when reports surfaced that Chad fooled around with Paris Hilton on the set of House of Wax. Now, Page Six is reporting that Sophia was getting cozy with the other male OTH heartthrob, James Lafferty, who plays Nathan.

According to the gossip column, the costars were cuddled up in a booth at 1Oak, with her hand on his thigh -- then they left together.

Yes, they could absolutely just be friends, and I'm not sure that Sophia would go down that road again, considering she has to act everyday with her cheating ex-husband, who's now engaged to a teen-aged extra he met on set, but it would be an interesting payback. How uncomfortable would Chad be to have to see Sophia and James all lovey-dovey right in front of his face?

Like Sophia, I would sort of love that. 

According to People.com, the group lunched at Lario's on South Beach Saturday afternoon. "The four of them sat away from the crowds and had a blast," said a spy. "Kate and Owen looked very happy and were talking up a storm to Owen's parents."

Later that night, they dropped the 'rents and it was all about the party, as Kate, Owen and some of Kate's girlfriends headed out for dinner at Ago at the Shore Club. Following their good meal, Kate and Owen held hands as they walked to the Skybar, where they hung all over each other poolside -- on a bed.

On witness said the renewed lovebirds kissed up a storm and "were very sweet looking, it was super lovey-dovey."

Are you guys happy that these two are back together? I am. I think they are genuinely in love. Or Owen is, anyway.

Here's the deal -- Jessica Simpson and her boyfriend, football player Tony Romo, went out to celebrate his birthday, at Suite in Dallas, with friends. They danced and partied, and Jessica even did her best Marilyn Monroe impression and sang "Happy Birthday" to him over the microphone.

Then the cake came out. A No. 9, blue, Dallas Cowboys cake (like he's friggin' 8). They fed each other the confection, getting blue icing all over the place, as Jess took her tongue to her man.

"She licked cake from his face as everyone cheered them on. It was quite a spectacle," says one club insider. "But they looked really happy together. Jessica had blue icing all over her hands and mouth and Tony was laughing."

According to PerezHilton.com, the rumors that Kiki and my beloved Ryan Gosling are hooking up are true! Kirsten and Ry are currently in NYC shooting their new movie, All Good Things, and have been seen out on numerous occasions doing some after-work flirting. Now, a source told PH that the costars were partying together at The Box on Saturday -- and were totally getting their kiss on.

"They were making out publicly," said the spy. "They didn't try to hide it."

Ugh! I need to go gargle.

I'm pretty sure Rach's blonde locks are just a wig, but what do you think? Should Summer have been a fair-haired beauty?

So says Mama, Kathy Hilton. Paris' mom told Vegas Luxe Life blog that her daughter and the Good Charlotte rocker are, indeed, super serious. "This has honestly become the real thing," Kathy said of Paris & Benji's relationship. "It's a great love match, and I have a funny feeling it's going to go all the way, and we've already given it our approval."

Rick Hilton agrees with his wife, adding that Benji is "the perfect example of 'don't judge a book by its cover.' He's polite, well mannered – even calls me sir. We love him like family already."

Paris is currently touring with Benji and the rest of the band and her mom says that Ben just might be the best thing that has ever happened to her daughter. "Their life has never been better," Kathy said. "We agree with Paris that he is an amazing guy... He's changed her life, and I really think she's genuinely in love for the first time."

It's just so hard for me to believe that Paris isn't dating him because he's Nicole Richie's boyfriend's brother, and because she's jealous of what Nicole has.

But, hey, who am I (besides a cynical celebrity blogger) to look down on love, right?

Mariah Carey is having a rebirth of some sort. With her brand new album, her record-breaking 18th No. 1 Billboard hit, her hot new body, and her appearance on American Idol, it makes sense that she should have a new boyfriend to go along with all this goodness.

According to PerezHilton.com, Mimi does have a new guy -- and his name is Nick Cannon! Perez says that Mariah and Nick have been getting very cozy lately and that they flew to Vegas last night, together, on a private jet. When the new couple got to Sin City, they headed over to Prive, where they celebrated rapper (and Mariah BFF) Da Brat's birthday.

Nick was previously engaged to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, but that didn't work out so well. Do you think Mims and Nick make a good couple? 

Contrary to popular belief, the couple didn't meet at Ocean's Thirteen premiere party at the Palms Casino Resort in 2007 --  it was actually years before that.

"It was on his birthday three or four years ago at Whiskey at [Vegas's] Green Valley Ranch," Sarah said, in an interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal, and she and George's party met up. "I was with some friends. We were all dancing, taking pictures, being silly."  But, Sarah had a boyfriend at the time. Then, when the actor went to Vegas for the Ocean's premiere last summer, "he heard I was working at Moon [nightclub]." He went to find her and, she says, "we hung out." 

It must have been a good time because, a month later, he took her to his house in Italy. The rest is history.

Why don't these things ever happen to me?? Though I did meet the mayor of Hoboken once at the diner. It was thrilling, but he's not George Clooney and I was never his girlfriend. Oh well.

According to Page Six, Gossip Girl's resident brooder has been cozying up to the show's latest addition -- Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Michelle Trachtenberg. A spy says that new co-stars were caught at the SoHo bar Upstairs, and that they were "flirting heavily." The blabber mouth said that Chace and Michelle "were all over each other. She was drinking a beer and snuggling up to him."

Verrry interesting...

"She is ready to nest and has even been talking about having more little ones," a friend of the actress reportedly said. "She is relieved to be more settled again," the insider revealed, of the couple's rekindled flame. "She really felt as if she were testing her limits going out while she and Owen were separated."  

Kate is currently in New York, filming her new film, Bride Wars, with Anne Hathaway, while Owen is filming in Miami.

Um, that would be a big "no," as they both took to the carpet alone. Chris, who won Favorite Male Singer, kept his distance from Rhi Rhi as they both waved and greeted fans outside the show's venue. To add insult to injury, Chris, who has been photographed, more than once, snuggling up to Rhianna over the past few months, made a statement to reporters regarding the pop singer.

"We're not in a relationship or anything," Chris said, before heading into the show.

Ouch! I hope Rhianna knew that.

While ex Ryan Phillippe talks openly about how, though he likes Reese Witherspoon's new love, Jake Gyllenhaal, he would rather not see pictures of them together, Reese revels in her solid relationship with Jake.

Hanging out in Miami, Kate and her men took the sun, rode bikes, stopped for coffee, and picked up some videos for the holiday. "They looked like a family on an afternoon outing, taking advantage of the balmy weather and doing some errands," an eyewitness told People.com.

Hopefully the Easter Bunny brought the couple a big basket of happiness -- Owen could use it after his new movie, Drillbit Taylor, tanked at the box office this weekend.
