"[The media] feels very dark now. They want you to fall, throw up or do crack."

-- Gwyneth Paltrow, to BBC talk show host Jonathan Ross, on why she and her family prefer to live in London, where it's much more private than the states.

You had to know Rosie O' Donnell wasn't going to sit back and not say anything about The Globe's recent accusations that she "bullies" her 12-year-old son.

“Kelli, come say ‘Hi’ to the bloggers," Rosie said to her wife, Kelli Carpenter, while filming a her video blog for Rosie.com. "Honey, come say hi! Are you scared of my abusive parenting ways honey?” Rosie asked in jest, referring the tabloid's cover that read, “Abusive Rosie Bullies Son, 12.”

In their story, the mag claimed that Ro got rough with Parker, and published six photos of the mother and son in, what looks to be, an argument. In one of those pictures, Rosie has her hand on her kid's arm.

“Um, no,” Kelli said. “I would assume that any mother [out] there that has a 12 or 13-year-old boy has grabbed him by the arm.”

“The story is absolutely ludicrous and ridiculous,” a rep for Rosie told Access Hollywood. “There is no truth to it whatsoever.”

Rosie followed up her partner's response, saying that that would be “our only comment, because you’re not supposed to comment. But it’s the only thing going through my mind.”

I'm going to have to support Ro on this one. Maybe she was pulling him back from oncoming traffic. Maybe he was mouthing off and she wanted to get his attention. Maybe she was swatting a bee off of him. An unfounded story like this one is just wrong.

The tides are shifting, people. According to the NY Daily News, the paparazzi may be over Britney Spears? WHAT?

The paper spoke to the head of BuzzFoto, who pointed out that the paparazzi are cooling off the pop princess, despite the fact that she may be on the comeback trail. "Over the weekend, there were less than a half dozen covering Britney," Brad Elterman said.

So, where are all the sneaky shutterbugs? "There were 30 in the pack covering Miley Cyrus," he revealed. "Most of them were Britney regulars, but they want something new and fresh. It's moved on to Miley."

Britney's paparazzi loss is really a gain, while Miley had better watch her back. I pray it won't happen but, in a year, could we talking about how a bald Miley smashed her umbrella through a photog's windshield?
